Q&A Session - Part 2: Ask and You Shall Receive!

Monday, December 8th, 2008 | Blogging - MISC, Other/Random with 10 Comments

Questions and Answers

I thought the first Q&A session went pretty well so I figured I’d take my shot at round 2. Of course, not only will you get your answer but everyone who asks a question will also receive a backlink. So, basically it’s a win win situation for you guys.

I seem to get a few e-mails asking me specific questions on my $100/Day Adsense post, examples of my other sites and so on. I figured it’d be beneficial for other readers to check out my answer so I don’t need to answer the same question a bunch of times.

Now in my last Q&A session, I mentioned you can ask me any question that you have whether it’s about my personal life, making money online, hobbies, my opinions on certain bloggers, or even if you just want to ask me who I think will win the next football game, feel free!

For the record, if you want to ask me about my NFL football picks for the upcoming week, I’ll be glad to give my input. If the Carolina Panthers win tonight, I’ll be 15-1 for this week with the only loss coming from the Cowboys vs Steelers game.

And we all know who should have won that!

Anyways, shoot me as many questions as you want, I’m not putting any limit on the number of questions you can ask. Again, it can be about anything! Though, if you ask about personal issues I have the right not to answer some. But I’m pretty open so you never know.

So, what questions do you want answered by me? What, none? You don’t want a free backlink for 10 seconds of asking?

Ask already! :P

Another A-List Blog Casualty: R.I.P. The University Kid

Friday, December 5th, 2008 | Blogging - MISC, Other/Random with 21 Comments

RIP The University Kid

Don’t worry, nothing really happened to Jason a.k.a. The University Kid just incase you guys were extremely worried. But it’s sad to say, The University Kid… dot com, will not be the same. Why? Well, Jason is finally selling his blog and already has it listed on Sitepoint (he even gives DatMoney a quick shout out! Though, it’s like “Where’s Waldo?” looking for it).

With all good things always comes an end. I’ve been reading TUK for quite sometime now, way before he even hit triple digit subscribers. Matter of fact, if you’ve been following his blog for as long as I have, you might have remembered he was offered $6,000 BIN for TUK in which he turned down.

Was he crazy? Yeah, a lot of people thought so. But obviously he proved to people that he is a true online entrepreneur because of all the knowledge he shared with his readers on making money on and offline. He made a name for himself at the A-list level and out of any MMO blog, he actually goes into detail to help people with proven tactics.

And get this; he never tried to make money off his readers. Well, maybe an occasional purchase of hosting for $0.01 or an eBook for cheap. But you can’t beat that, can you?

Let me ask you, has John Chow ever actually helped you make money online? Probably not. He might tell you about a new product or something you should try out that may or may not help you but that’s about it. Plus, he’s probably being paid to do a sponsored review on that product anyways. :P

On top of that, TUK will more than likely double what it was offered before. I mean, he made close to $1,000 from that blog just last month with absolutely no promotion whatsoever! And if you purchase it at the BIN price, he’s also going to give you his popular Blog Premiere forum.

I know what you’re thinking… damn, Jay is freakin’ sucking up to TUK! Lol nah, not really. Just telling it how it is.

It’s a shame that we won’t have the luxury of reading the killer posts once Jason is gone, but who knows, maybe the new owner will actually be better.

Though, that almost never happens.

Anyways, check out this Blog Sale post and his auction at Sitepoint. Make sure you tell Jason that Jay of DatMoney.com referred you!

Oh, and don’t worry, he has a collaboration blog that will be just as helpful. :D

Build a Celebrity Website Now and Watch Your Earnings Grow!

If you’re one of those people that despise celebrities, well, I’m not asking you to like them. But building a celebrity website is definitely worth it if you’re looking to make some extra money on the side. Plus, it doesn’t take too long to build one and more than likely you won’t have to do any maintenance to it.

If you’re wondering why you should build one, well, it can work wonders if you’re doing it right. I have a few celebrity websites in which I did a one-time setup and I haven’t touched it since. As of right now, I’m making, on average, a couple dollars a day for each website and like I said, I haven’t touched them since I first set it up.

Now, you’re probably thinking “a couple dollars a day? That’s nothing! Give me a break man!” That may be true but if you learn to rinse and repeat the process then those couple of dollars a day could turn into $10/day… then $20/day… $100/day… and who knows, maybe thousands?

And did I mention you don’t have to touch the site ever again and you will get a check once a month?

On top of that, I heard celebrity sites are pretty good to convert affiliate campaigns, particularly the zip and e-mail submit ones. Hey, I’m not the one to judge but I heard that people who go to those types of websites are generally the same ones that think they can magically win a new iPod or TV by entering in their e-mail address.

Okay, so hopefully I have your attention enough to this point. Now let me tell you how to go about building a celebrity website.

Pick Out Your Featured Celebrity – Think of each celebrity as its own niche, its own site. You can pick any celebrity you want, just as long as they’re popular enough to be searched for. (And even if they’re a D-list celeb, there are tons of people still searching for them)

If you want to check if they’re actually being searched for, try going to Google Trends and simply typing in their name. If a graph appears, you have some people searching for them.

Find The Keywords Around Your Celebrity – Your celebrity’s name is good for a keyword but more than likely it’s highly competitive with thousands/millions of other websites. You want to focus more on the long-tail keywords instead. Try simply entering in their name in the SEO Book Keyword Tool and you’ll end up with tons of long-tail keywords.

$100/Day Adsense Password Sent Out!

Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008 | Make Money Online, Ramblings with 15 Comments

I wanted to apologize for the delay in getting you guys the password. I said I was going to send it out at the end of last week but I was out-of-town and for some weird reason, my e-mails act up on my laptop when I’m using someone else’s internet connection.

Anyways, I finally sent all my valid e-mail subscribers the password. Within the past week or two, I had seen a lot of people unsubscribe so none of them received the password. Additionally, for those that never verified their e-mails or are “inactive” also didn’t receive it.

I did receive some bounce backs so if you are a valid e-mail subscriber, whom never received the password, just leave a comment here with the e-mail address you subscribed with and I’ll be sure to get you it.

I mentioned this in the e-mail I sent to you guys but I just wanted to say it again just incase anyone missed that e-mail (if it got sent to their spam filter or something). I would appreciate it if you guys didn’t tell anyone the password to the post.

I do plan on writing an eBook with a step-by-step with examples so I would look out for that as well. Also, I did mention in the e-mail that if you guys had any question at all, I’d be glad to answer all of them individually by e-mail or you can also contact me on instant messenger.

Anyways, hope you guys enjoy! And like I said, if you have any question, I don’t mind answering all of them, it just might take some time to reply but I’ll definitely get there!

Now what other online entrepreneur is willing to personally give you their time without charging you a single penny? :P

Oh, and did I mention that all my e-mail subscribers get entered into contests that I hold here? Hint, hint. ;) Maybe a contest is coming soon…

Taking Advantage of Holidays to Make Money Online and Build Traffic

Saturday, November 29th, 2008 | Affiliated Marketing, Blogging for Traffic, Make Money Online with 14 Comments

Black Friday

Just like the latest trends, holidays are things you should be taking advantage of annually. And with that said, Thanksgiving is here and of course, Black Friday!

For those of you guys that celebrate Thanksgiving as a holiday, I want to say Happy Thanksgiving! And for those that do not, at least eat all the traditional foods, especially if you’re going over someone else’s house and eating for free!

But with that said, all online entrepreneurs should (and most already do) take advantage of holidays to make some extra cash as well as build tons of traffic to their sites via search engines. And here are a couple of things you can/should do.

Take the Hottest Deals and Benefit From Them - If you don’t know about Black Friday, well, it’s probably the craziest shopping day throughout the U.S. Essentially, Black Friday is the day for the best deals for products and the cheapest deals you can find. I mean, people wait in lines for hours before stores even open. This is where you can use it to your benefit.

We’ll start with taking the hottest deals and how it can help you with tons of traffic. First, you find a hot product that everyone wants to buy. You can simply do this by going to any of the major store websites. We’ll use Bestbuy.com as our example.

Once you go to Bestbuy.com, right on the frontpage it shows what’s for sale. If not, you can also try clicking on their weekly ad sales to see other products. But since it was just Black Friday and Thanksgiving, they still have the holiday sales on there.
