DatMoney Weekly Updates 7: Where Have I Been?

Sunday, March 8th, 2009 | Weekly Updates with 6 Comments

Here comes another edition of DatMoney Weekly Updates to get you guys all caught up on where I stand on some of my online entrepreneur projects and what’s been new.

Where Have I Been? – Honestly, I’ve been going through a few personal issues that have taken my mind off of things and it’s hard trying to focus when things get you down, you know? I haven’t had my head on my shoulders for a while but I’m trying to get things back so I can get rolling but again, it’s hard.

On top of that, I’ve been working on new projects which I will mention further on this post.

I’m A Little Behind – If you sent me an e-mail within the past week or so, more than likely you haven’t received a response from me. Again, I haven’t really had my head on my shoulders and on top of that, some of my personal issues have been getting me down a lot so I’ve also lacked motivation to do anything. And it’s not only online stuff that, for the record.

Password to $100/day from Adsense Sent Out – I believe I sent out a mass e-mail last week or the week before to those e-mail subscribers that have been active and been patiently waiting.

If you haven’t received the password and you subscribed before one week ago, please let me know. My e-mail might have went straight to your spam or you might’ve deleted it for some odd reason?

Extending FREE Banner Designs – I decided that I’m going to extend this offer but not exactly where until when. Of course, you guys do need to meet the requirements and a lot of people were denied simply because they were looking for a head for a brand new blog.

Please read the requirements at “I Will Design Your Blog Header for FREE!”

Working on Amazon Sites – I recently signed up to promote Amazon products and someone gave me an idea to build niche sites for it. It’s almost like how I build my niche Adsense sites or maybe how some affiliate marketers create landing pages.

I’m testing a few things out because I heard you can make quite a decent amount of money with Amazon. Plus, it’s a trustworthy and known site so people won’t hesitate on buying it through them.

So, I’ve hit a speed bump with personal issues and I’m sure it happens to the best of us but it just depends on how we cope with it. I’ve been trying my best but when you are simply too distracted, you aren’t as productive and that’s how I’ve been for a little while. I’m still like that but I’m out to prove things to people… and that’s what is giving me that little motivation I need.

Weekly Update: I Lost 500+ RSS Feed Subscribers! (And Other Stuff)

Thursday, February 26th, 2009 | Weekly Updates with 13 Comments

I decided to do my weekly update today rather than wait for the weekend. And a bunch of things have been going on since my last update and I figured I’d keep you guys entertained (or bored) with this post.

I Lost 500+ RSS Feed Subscribers! – Well, not exactly. Yesterday I finally hit 800+ subscribers until I checked today, it dropped to 278! The reason is I finally made the switch from my Feedburner account to Google and apparently my RSS Feed numbers are going to be extremely low on all my blogs for the next 72 hours or so. That is perfectly fine and everything but it just brings me to my next point/update.

Of course, after I write this entire post it just went back to normal.  Dammit!

Password to Protected Posts On Hold – Don’t worry, it shouldn’t be too long. I was planning on sending it out this week (yesterday actually) until I logged into my Feedburner account and didn’t have access to the e-mail subscribers due to transition. Once I get a hold of that information, I will send it out within the next day or two.

Link Exchange Anyone? - A few people have contacted me with link exchange inquires and I haven’t gotten back to them yet. Before you jump the gun, I’m mainly looking for link exchanges with my other blog iBlogtoBlog.com which would fit with entertainment, movie, music, sports type niches.

I’ll consider a few link exchanges here but please don’t contact me about it if your blog is brand spanking new. I’m going to be picky and look for blogs in a similar niche with the same type of quality links, traffic, subscribers, etc.

Recommended Wordpress Theme Designers? – Anyone have any recommendations? It doesn’t have to be an actual designer but if you know of any premium themes that would fit nicely with my site, that’d be great. I’m looking for something that would handle about the same about of ads I currently have and hopefully a 2-3 column template.

Most premium themes have referral and affiliate links and if I go with your recommendation, I’ll sign up through your affiliate link!

FREE Blog Headers Are Going Great! – I have only been able to design like 4-5 so far but it’s been going pretty good for the most part. I’m probably going to be extending this offer past what I originally said but I have yet to determine the date.

Site Flipping Team – I mentioned this in yesterday’s post but if you are still interested, please e-mail me by March 7th so we can all get this going already.

For the original people that expressed interest, if I do not hear from you by then, I will assume you are no longer interested.

Joint Ventures - If you aren’t interested in the site flipping group, I’m willing to partner up for a joint venture on a site. A few of you guys have already contacted me on a few and just as long as you guys stay committed, then I will definitely be interested in partnering up.

It’s good to do this because that way I have someone kicking my ass so I don’t get lazy and procrastinate and I can do the same too. I mean, no one wants the GOYFA certificate again!

Another Password Protected Post Coming Soon! – I was going to post a password protected post yesterday but since I didn’t have access to my e-mail subscribers, that basically defeated the purpose of even posting it. I’ll have it up pretty soon once I get my freakin’ Feedburner subscribers list.

And again, only my e-mail subscribers will receive the password to the protected posts.

FREE Advertising at DatMoney?! - Technically, yes, free. Unfortunately, it’s in a form of a contest that I’m sponsoring on another blog. They also have some other interesting prizes and you can check out the contest here.

I’m sure I’ll have more updates but in the meantime, I’ll try to get some more helpful posts written so you guys can actually go and try them out for yourselves.

DatMoney Weekly Updates 5 – Let’s Go!

Sunday, February 8th, 2009 | Weekly Updates with 10 Comments

weekly-update

I haven’t had a chance to do too many weekly updates simply because I’ve been busy with these projects that take longer than expected. But let’s go over some quick updates so I can try to answer some questions I keep getting through e-mail.

Password to My $100/Day Adsense Post – I mention this on every single weekly update only because I continue to get a lot of people e-mailing asking for the password because they never received it. I don’t have an automatic responder so I do this manually. And I try to e-mail out the password in batches once or twice a month because 1) you guys get a chance to read some of my posts instead of just that just the password protected ones and 2) so I’m not e-mailing everyone individually with the password.

If you took the time to e-mail me, more than likely I responded to you (except if you e-mailed within the past couple of days). Other than that, the rest of you guys will get the password soon enough.

eBook Status – I started to work on a couple of them but I don’t want to hurry it up and just release some garbage eBooks. I see so many of them out there that I just want the ones I write to actually be pretty decent and helpful.

Additionally, the first one I’m going to release will probably be a simpler one so I can get a feel on how you guys like it. And just a heads up, my e-mail subscribers will get this first eBook for free so make sure you look out for that sometime in the near future.

Site Flipping Teams – I sent an e-mail out to those that were interested before in creating a website with me and then selling it for a profit. I only heard back from a couple of you guys, and I basically asked for you guys to start brainstorming on ideas for niche and stuff so we can get it underway.

And if anyone else is interested in joining, please let me know. But keep in mind, I’m looking for people that are somewhat dedicated and are good with communicating.

Sponsoring Your Contests – I was asked if I’d be interested in sponsoring some contests and with what. To answer the question, I would be interested if you are holding one but I’m going to assume I would get some benefit from it. More than likely I’d sponsor ad space for a month on either of my blogs, possibly banner designs, text links and stuff like that.

Of course, I can’t sponsor everyone so it’ll be more of a first come first serve.

I Considered Selling DatMoney – Yes, you’ve read right. I did consider selling DatMoney simply for the fact that I needed quite a lot of money to pay off some bills. But after thinking about it for quite sometime, I decided to hold off on it. And honestly, it was simply because of you guys that take the time to network with me, comment on my blog, subscribe, visits daily, etc.

Since you guys continue to support me, I will do my best to try to support you guys. So, thank you everyone!

And that’s a quick update for you guys that were interested.

DatMoney Weekly Updates 4 – Changes and Effects

Friday, January 16th, 2009 | Weekly Updates with 9 Comments

duck-busy

So, I decided to post DatMoney weekly updates part 4 today rather than the weekend, just incase I get extremely busy with other projects. But there have been a few changes and with those changes comes the aftermath effects.

The main effect is the fact that it takes away from my time to do everything I want to because I’m so spread out. For instance, in the first week of January, I posted five times here but in the following week, I only managed to post twice. Again, that is one of the aftermath effects of me needing to raise some quick cash to pay back some bills I have coming up.

Prioritizing is key!

Anyways, let’s get to some of the changes and updates.

$100/day Adsense Post Concerns and E-mails – First, I sent out the password to every subscriber up to the 14th. So, if you haven’t received the password via e-mail that means you didn’t subscribe (verify, confirm, you’re unactive, etc) or it simply means it was filtered into your spam folder. I CCed myself on the last e-mail sent out so yes, it went through on my end.

A couple of you guys had concerns and because of some projects I have, I was unable to give the full attention in constantly replying back. I would contact me on Yahoo messenger that way it’d be easier to communicate back and forth. Also, I’ll address one thing real quick, build links!

Also, I will write a follow up post or eBook in full details with examples. Someone asked me for an example site of mine so they can see how everything is setup. Currently, I won’t be giving that information out until my next password protected post or eBook.

Banner Design Page Updated (And New Prices) – So, I finally changed my banner design page so it’s a little more organized and slightly cleaner. Also, it finally reflects the new prices. Though, quite a few of you guys contacted me before I got a chance to change it so you guys will all be paying the old prices. :D

Testing, Testing and Testing New Things – I’ve been testing various things that work to benefit with traffic, backlinks, revenue, etc. I’ve been doing quite a lot of this in the past week or so. So far I’ve found a few things that have worked but I’m trying to get everything situated so I don’t tell you guys some crap that doesn’t work for all of us, you know?

Commenting on Other Blogs – I’ve been slacking in general with all of my promotion methods and honestly, I haven’t been really commenting on any blogs as of late. But that’s not even the only promotion method I do and I haven’t been doing any of them. I don’t do it fully for promotions but I like to network and give feedback sometimes too. I will probably be doing that soon enough when I have some more time.

The Site Flip Team(s) – This has been another effect of the projects and priorities I have. I had to push this down my list a little bit, but don’t worry, I didn’t forget about it. I’m just trying to sort out teams and pick some team leaders (even though I’m pretty sure who I have in mind already).

In addition, a couple of my potential site flipping teammates that were going to join had to back out because they also lacked the time. They are already site flippers so I felt they would also contribute in teaching everyone but they felt they would slack a little too much and felt it was unfair to the rest of the group.

Old Projects Are Somewhat Back! – I’m sure some of you guys knew about the various sites I own, especially DatCurious.com. Well, after months and months and months of not really doing much to the site, I decided I would change the layout and everything and work on that now that I have more knowledge in this online game. Nothing special but we’ll see how that goes.

There are a few other projects that I’ve gone back to but I have never revealed that information to the public so I guess I’ll keep that to myself for now.

Anyways, that just caps another week of updates on what’s going on here at DatMoney and everything else.

DatMoney Weekly Updates 3 – Some Important Ones!

Saturday, January 3rd, 2009 | Weekly Updates with 15 Comments

In this week’s updates, there are a few key ones including site flip teams, e-mails, $100/day on Adsense post, status on the winner of my contest as well as some changes in general here on DatMoney.

Happy New Year 2009

First, I hope everyone had a great New Year’s Day! I hope you guys gone wild at parties, got drunk but still managed to wake up the next morning without a stranger in your bed.

Anyways, let’s get to some quick, yet, somewhat important updates that may interest you.

Contest to Win a Flip Mino HD or Ipod Nano is CLOSED – The contest officially ended on December 31st and I think I got a chance to read almost every entry. I just have to do the hard part and pick one freakin’ winner out of all the great entries! Anyways, I’ll announce the winner on Monday, January 5th for those that are interested in checking back.

Site Flip Team E-mails Have Been Replied To – Sorry for the delay to everyone that contacted me regarding the site flip team. You guys know my laptop crashed and since I bought my new computer, I was having problems getting my e-mails off my server and onto my e-mail client. Anyways, I replied to everyone that sent me an e-mail so look out for that.

Some already responded to my reply but I think most haven’t. So, we’ll be waiting, but let’s hope not for too long like what I did. :P

All Other E-mails and Passwords to Protected Posts – I’m pretty much caught up with all my e-mails with the exception of just a few stragglers. If you’ve contacted me for the password to the $100/day from Adsense post after Thursday night then you’ll probably be receiving a response from me this weekend.

Anyone before that should have received the password if you subscribed with a confirmed e-mail address. There were some people that I checked and they weren’t even subscribed, yet, they said they did. Just an FYI, I can check on my end…

The Q&A Post Answer and Backlinks – Honestly, I completely forgot about answering the questions with everything that has been going on. I’ll try to get that posted this upcoming week.

Google Pagerank Girl

Google Pagerank and the “Nofollow” Attribute – I didn’t even notice until quite a few of you guys mentioned that my PR dropped. Matter of fact, I ended up making it on TheNetFool’s Top 100 MMO Blogs Pagerank Update List. But quite frankly, I still don’t care about Pagerank.

Though, I’m sure you guys are aware that I added a lot of “nofollow” attributes throughout my site. Don’t worry, it’s not going to effect any of you guys. I’m only doing this as an experiment to see if anything will change. I realized I have a TON of outgoing links that simply didn’t need to be “dofollow.”

If you have the SEO Firefox plugin installed, you will see a lot of things highlighted in red, meaning they are now with “nofollow” attributes. If you don’t see it, I changed the following to “nofollow”:

  • My Recent Posts on the sidebar
  • Half of my Popular & Helpful Posts on the sidebar
  • My RSS Feed Subscription links
  • Every link on my Navigation Menu except for Banner Designs
  • The Advertise Here links
  • I counted and there were 25 additional outgoing links that simply were not necessary. Hey, I’m testing it out, why not?

Banner Design Changes – I haven’t had time yet but I will be cleaning up my Banner Design page. Believe it or not, I get a decent amount of organic visitors from it and that page looks horrible as a landing page.

Yeah, that’s probably a big turnoff to potential clients.

In addition, I will be raising the prices slightly as of January 12th. The 125×125 will increase from $6.00 to $10.00 and the headers/full banners/logos will increase from $21.00 to $25.00.

The reason why I’m increasing the price is the fact that I almost felt the time spent working on it compared to the cost simply wasn’t worth it. It’s still pretty cheap but I’m hoping it will either a.) increase my revenue, or b.) decrease the amount of clients.

back-tattoo-advertise-hereIf you remember from a previous weekly update, I mentioned that I was considering stopping the banner design service in general because I didn’t have the time. Well, this idea of increasing the prices may help everyone. Well, somewhat.

Changed My Advertising Page Honestly, I haven’t even touched my advertising page since March 08 and if you saw it, the entire page was pretty messy. I decided to clean it up and get it organized so it looks a little more professional. The stats are from last month incase you were wondering. And no, I haven’t been promoting my site like I should be for those that are questioning the traffic.

Thanks to Everyone Willing to Help Me Out – Honestly, I can’t believe you guys are so helpful when I’m in need. First, it was my laptop crashing then it was my comments being messed up (even though I did offer an ad spot for the rest of the month :P ). If you help me, I will always be willing to help you. What goes around comes around, right?

Anyways, thank you to everyone once again and special shout out to Wesley for helping me resolve that issue.

So those are my updates that I can remember for the week. Of course, I’m posting this later than I wanted to because I was having problems with my internet. Go figure with all my problems, huh?

I hope to be hearing from some of you guys real soon!
