I know we all need web hosting if we’re planning on taking this webmaster stuff seriously, so of course, you need to find out which hosting server is best for you, right? Well, I stumbled across this web hosting reviews site that breaks down almost every hosting company you can think of.
The interesting part of this site is the fact that all users have the ability to post their own opinion on different hosting servers. They have a rating system on a 1 to 5 scale on various criteria’s which range anywhere from user-friendliness, quality, price to tech support.
I was pretty impressed with the site because you would think almost every review is bad or almost every review is good but it’s a big mix. And I decided to go under the “Best Blog Hosting” tab to see which hosting server and it was BlueHost.
To all the BlueHost users, don’t give your hopes up! It only got a mediocre 3.2 stars out of 5. Matter of fact, a lot of reviews trashed it especially for the tech and customer service.
Ouch!
Of course I was curious what they said on my hosting, Lunarpages, it seemed just about the same as BlueHost. That just tells me not everyone will be happy with their hosting.
Webhostinggeeks.com breaks down every aspect that I could have ever thought of about hosting and that includes important web hosting articles , domain stuff, best web hosting and they even break down the different types of sites that the best hosting is for.
For example, if you run a forum they have the best hosting listed specifically for that. If you’re looking to blog they have the best hosting listed for that. And you see how the pattern goes.
And for all those people who plan on running an adult website, blog, forum or whatever, you have to keep in mind that not all hosting companies support that. But don’t worry, they also have links to adult web hosting sites so you can pick.
Personally, I’m not going to rate any hosting on the site but it was definitely an interesting read to see what people have to say about my own hosting. You guys should check it out and possibly leave your feedback if you want to!
The other day I wanted to make a quick phone call to a friend overseas, but I couldn’t believe the high prices my phone company was trying to charge me. And because I’m lazy, I didn’t feel like driving down the street to buy a phone card. So, what did I do? Well, since I needed a phone card, international calling card and I had internet access handy, I simply went to Nobelcom.com.
So, what is Nobelcom.com? It’s the World’s Leading Phone Card website, also voted best phone card by Kiplinger’s Magazine. This site is so big worldwide that it’s serving almost 4 million customers. Yes, 4 million!
Why should I care? I have a cell phone. Well, everyone has a cell phone. Even my niece and she’s six! But have you ever looked at your international rates? Yeah, so this is why you need a phone card!
So, I’ve met so many bloggers from different parts of the world, I thought about connecting with them but of course, the cost of calling other countries was a little out of my price range. Again, have you ever really looked at your cell phone’s international rates? That’s my breakfast, lunch and dinner money right there! But Nobelcom has some of the cheapest prices. I’m serious. I know a bunch of people from Canada that I’ve always wanted to call and now I can for as cheap as $0.01 per minute.
There’s a catch, right? Yes, unfortunately. Look, it cost as low as $0.01 per minute when you use your local access number. Well, everyone has a landline so that shouldn’t be a problem.
So, what’s the catch? Well, that was basically it.
Nobelcom is definitely more than just a simple phone card website. Matter of fact, I’ve used standard phone cards before. I’ve paid $20.00 USD to call overseas and I only had a 15 minute conversation! If you sign up through Nobelcom, you not only get more for your buck, you also get 24/7 Live customer service. Yes, live! You rarely get live customer service nowadays.
In addition, you also automatic recharge, refer-a-friend features to get free calling cards, corporate accounts to save even more on your business expenses and let’s not forget phone card affiliates.
Yes, with the phone card affiliate program, you can also earn money from it. Hey, it’s another way of making money online plus, it’s free. So, you’re not going to be losing anything.
So, if you ever considered calling someone overseas but couldn’t because the prices were too high, well, you don’t have to look any further. Try Nobelcom, I mean, you literally don’t need to go out to get phone cards anymore!
‘No Nonsense Internet Tips’ is a great blog about making money online, but it doesn’t stop there. The blog owner, Bruce Hopkins, goes into so much depth it almost draws people to continue to come back or subscribe to his RSS feeds.
Also, I’m asking for those who enjoy my posts to please, PLEASE subscribe to my RSS feeds. That would be greatly appreciated!
And don’t forget, I also design 125 x 125 ads and banners for VERY cheap! Feel free to contact me regarding it.
First, I want to say thank you to all of my visitors, especially those who have showed me more love (by linking back to my blog, commenting, adding me as a friend, etc) than I might deserve! I will try my best to continue and give back to all of you guys!
But here we go with the very first ‘DatMoney’ blog reviews:
First, there’s the lovely Jenny (She’s happily married fellas!) of ‘The So Called Me’ (and thank you Amanda for responding with ‘Bah’) who just recently changed her whole layout for the New Year. It’s a different feel from the old one but it still goes well with the overall theme “Me. My Life. My opinions.”
Though, I was getting pretty fond of the old layout but change is always good. (And yes, we will ALL miss it)
This blog discusses various topics from parenting to fashion to the daily activities of life. Jenny also gives back to the community in more ways than one, but she allows guest bloggers if anyone is interested and has similar interests.
Some of my favorites posts include all of Amanda’s Earning Reports, ‘The First Baby Shocker’ and ‘Be Grateful for your Babies’.
Only suggestion: Possibly include a ‘categories’ list so people can easily navigate to a particular topic of their choosing.
The next blog is Fanny of ‘For Singapore Entrepreneurs Only’ which has a very well organized three column layout. The mix and feel of the blog is simple, yet, down to earth and it is very easy to navigate.
This blog discusses entrepreneur type topics which includes such things as ‘strategies and tips’, ‘investments’, and ‘interviews.’ Although, the title and blog is directed to a Singapore audience, we can all learn from the information of this blog.
Some of my favorite posts include ‘Four Shocking Predictions for the Year of the Rat’, ‘Stop Giving Handouts –Kickstart Instead’ and ‘How to get an Unsecured Small Business Loan’.
And if you act now, they’re currently holding their first contest of 2008. It seems they are giving away ad space on their blog for THREE months! It’s simple to enter too. All you have to do is go to their site and either subscribe to their RSS feed or favorite them in Technorati.
And the last blog of this evening, it’s Les of ‘My Radical Blogs’ and he has a blog with an earthy type of feel and a newly designed banner (too bad I didn’t get a chance to design it!). It’s an easy-to-navigate blog with three columns and even easier ‘categories’ drop down menu.
This blog discusses various ‘rants’ yet anything and everything from his daily life to blogging issues. Les is very well-known for his blog reviews and I’m pretty sure he’s willing to review yours too!
This site gives back to the blogging community because who doesn’t like blog reviews, backlinks and “Sites of the Week” for free publicity!
If you would like a DM blog review, all you have to do is give me a simple backlink to your blog, or if you have time, write a review for any one of my blogs (DatCurious.com or DatMoney.com). But when you do, please let me know either by posting a comment where my blog link/review is, or you can e-mail me.
Also, I’m asking for those who enjoy my posts to please, PLEASE subscribe to my RSS feeds. That would be greatly appreciated!
And don’t forget, I also design 125 x 125 ads and banners for VERY cheap! (For examples, please e-mail me at whojaybe@datmoney.com)
First and foremost, Happy New Years to everyone! I hope 2008 is better than 2007 for all of you guys, in more ways than one.
