About me - hmm? Well, where should I start?

My name is Jason, though, everyone knows me as Jay or Dat, two nicknames I grew up with. I live in Boston, Ma and no I do not have a Boston accent (ew! - LOL!) I lived here most of my life but no one thinks I grew up here because I don’t have that accent. I have to toss out there that I lived in Cali when I was really young, so WEST SIDE!

I am 25-years-old and I graduated from Northeastern University with a B.A. in journalism and communication studies, but I never wanted to become a journalist. Honestly, I wanted to work in advertising coming up with slogans, jingles, commercials, etc. But here I am now, starting my entrepreneurship in online businesses.

How did I start with these online ventures?

I decided that I didn’t want to work a 9-5 job all my life. I never really liked the fact of being told what to do, or get yelled at for being 5 minutes late. In short, I’m looking for a way out so I can be my own boss. Work whatever hours I want to work. Wake up in the afternoon and work in my boxers, if I wanted to.

DatMoney.com was not my first online project. Matter of fact, it’s probably my third or fourth. I started a couple years ago with a friend of mine on a website called OurBS.com which was a website directed for college students to get anything they needed from online (news, gossip, sports, help with papers, etc) but we simply did not have the manpower to manage it so that project failed.

After a year, I started DatCurious.com which a lot of you guys know me from. Essentially, it is “Dat Sex Education Class You Wish You Had!” And no, I don’t believe it is “adult content” because we once learned about sex education as pre-teens and teens, right? Well, since the U.S. thinks preaching abstinence is the only way to teach teens about sex, I decided to do what I could do. So, are you ‘Dat Curious?’

Of course, DatMoney.com and I have also started iBlogtoBlog.com. Honestly, iBlogtoBlog is quickly becoming my favorite because there are no restrictions and it’s truly a blog about my interests. You guys should check it out sometime.

Quick update:  I now have quite a few websites but there are some that I would rather not reveal.

What are my goals?

I’m adding goals left and right as I grow older. But right now I’m focused on making enough money online to quit my day job. I have a long way to go, but of course, I have a realistic goal. I’m only making about $500-$1,000 a month right now and that’s definitely not enough to quit my day job. I’m hoping I can eventually move up to $3,000+ a month, but we’ll see. Lots of hard work ahead for me!

Hobbies?

Besides blogging and doing my online stuff, I like tons of stuff.

I’m a sports fan, particularly, football, basketball and baseball. I’m always up for playing any sports from football to basketball to tennis to even kickball, I don’t care!

I like to watch movies - I’m a comedy/action type of guy.

Of course, music, who doesn’t like music? I’m a hip-hop/rap person, but I’m not a big fan of the stuff they play on the radio. That’s not really hip-hop, that’s more of pop-hiphop. I also like R+B and rock too.

I also used to record music, rap and all. And again, it’s not the pop-hiphop stuff. It’s more of underground type of rap. Though, I haven’t done anything for the past couple years. But I’m also a poet and I basically use my lyrics through my music. If you want to hear something, let me know!

I like to play poker. I know, I know, gambling is bad. But it’s a game of bluffing, reading people, playing smart. It’s almost like a game of chess for lawyers. (You can take that for whatever you think I meant by it!)
