Most people are spending money during the holidays and if you’re one of them, you should also learn how to make money from the holidays so that way you don’t end up with a big whole in your pocket. There are plenty of ways of doing so but you just have to take advantage of what’s in front of you and actually do something about it.
Around the same time as last, I wrote up a post on “Taking Advantage of the Holidays to Make Money Online” and I’m sure not a lot of people really took advantage. It’s understandable because we’re all busy on the holidays. Look at me, I haven’t posted in almost a week because I’ve been running around doing things.
But if you got some time off from shopping on Black Friday or have a minute to get away from your extended family and all the arguing (thank goodness, right?) then you should take advantage of the hectic sales that are going on online.
Here’s what you can do…
1) Go to Shopping.com - There are a bunch of places where you can go but shopping.com seems to be a good place to find out what people want. If you scroll down to the bottom of the page you should see a link for “Top Searches” and its broken down into tons of subcategories. It’ll show you the top 100 searches for each one of those categories which is updated every two weeks.
Again, there are plenty of places to search what people are looking for but just take advantage of what’s in front of you.
2) Pick a Specific Product - The more specific the product you pick, the higher your potential of increasing conversations on sales. In addition, picking a specific brand, model, etc will probably help you rank better for long tail keywords which will help you with search engine traffic.
3) Build a Quick Website – It doesn’t have to be anything special. As a matter of fact, a lot of half ass looking pages perform just as good as killer designed websites. Just create a WP blog with a basic template and just add content specific for the product. For instance, if you pick a Sony Blu-Ray player as your product, you can write up posts on how to set it up, the product specs, what to avoid, etc.
Last year, I wrote a post on “Creating Landing Pages with Wordpress” that you guys can check out if you want.
4) Add Ads – Well, how else are you going to make money without putting any ads there? First, I would put Google Adsense ads (or any PPC ads) right above the post title and below the post. Then if you have a sidebar on your template, then I would put ads for that specific product of your site. You should be able to find most products on Amazon.com or Ebay.com and you can sign up as associates to get a percentage of the products you sell.
Also, I would put a link on the bottom of each post linking to the specific product with some anchor text like “Click here more details on the Sony Blu-Ray Player” .
5) Build Links – Most people forget about this part but its important because you need search engine traffic. And to get that, you should try to get on the front page of a searchable keyword. Build links with social media sites, blog commenting, article directories, blog directories, etc.
So, that’s the basic outline for you guys to make money online from the holidays. There are limitless ways of doing so but you guys need to take action, test out what works and just keep working at it. If you guys missed out on Black Friday, don’t worry, people are still shopping like crazy for Christmas and even if you miss that, people are still trying to find deals after that!
Any questions of comments?

It may be a bit late to build links for a Christmas based offer but if you start preparing ahead of time for next Christmas, you could set yourself up to make some good cash.
