Free Blogger Template: FashionPress

Friday, October 9th, 2009 | Free Blogger Templates with 6 Comments

I think I’m going to try to have a new free blogger template once a week or every other week. Again, for those of you guys that are new, these are templates that have been converted from Wordpress to Blogger so people with Blogger blogs aren’t left out.

This week we have the Fashion Press theme so if you guys have an entertainment blog, this template is definitely a step in the right direction. I know for a fact that I will be using this theme myself for a couple of blogs, Wordpress or Blogger. Just take a look at the FashionPress screenshot below:

It’s a three column template with a lot of features but easy access to get your ads out there for good exposure above the fold. It’s Adsense ready and this will definitely come in handy if you’re getting a lot of traffic from search engines. And in my experience, you definitely get good traffic from entertainment posts.

Designing Your Own Wordpress Theme Is Hard

Wednesday, October 7th, 2009 | Blogging - Design with 18 Comments

I have officially started but can I just say designing your own Wordpress theme is actually pretty hard. I mean, I knew it wasn’t going to be easy or anything but it takes a lot of work. There are a few major steps and I’m not even close to being done with the first part – the design portion of it.

Last week I asked you guys, Do You Prefer One, Two, Three or Four Column Blog Templates? I was asking because I kind of wanted you guys’ opinions on what I should do with my first Wordpress theme that I’m designing. After looking through the comments, it seems as though the majority favors three column templates with two columns coming in at a close second.

A few liked one column and someone (or a couple) mentioned a four column template. Well, I went with the majority and started my first design as a three column template.

Right now, it doesn’t look like anything special. You can check out the screenshot below on the beginning portion of my first Wordpress design. (Click on the image to see the full size)

Designing Your Own Wordpress Theme

Like I said, it doesn’t look like anything special right now. Matter of fact, the final design probably won’t look anything like what you see from the screenshot. I’m just going over some tutorials just to get the feel on how a typical Wordpress theme design is supposed to be like. Once I get all of that down, I’m going to change things to get it how I want it to be.

How to Make $100 a Day with Adsense

No, the title isn’t a repeat of a previous post. This is an introduction to a new post on how to make $100 a day with Adsense.

As all of you guys are aware, I currently have one way to make $100/day with Adsense posted and you can easily get access to that post for simply subscribing to my RSS Feeds via e-mail.

But this post isn’t to advertise that, again. This post is to let you guys know that I found two, maybe three new ways of making pretty decent money with Adsense. I mean, there are plenty of ways to make $100 a day with Adsense but how many of these tactics actually work?

I’m currently in the process of testing these methods out. The couple new ones I found out are somewhat similar, I know for a fact that it does work and unfortunately, yes it does take some work. It’s just like my first password protected post on how to make $100/day… you just need to work, work, work and you should see the money roll straight into your account.

Other Search Engines Besides Google

Friday, October 2nd, 2009 | Blogging - MISC, Blogging for Traffic with 22 Comments

other search engines besides google

I know Google owns the internet but you guys have to remember there are a lot of other search engines besides Google. And quite frankly, you can get just as much traffic from all those other search engines put together than Google itself if you work it right.

So, How Exactly Do You Work it Right?

That’s a very good question. The two biggest things are the same ones to get ranked in Google: keyword research and building links. Those two are the main things you guys should focus on to get any traffic from search engines.

I already posted on how you can do both so I won’t repeat the entire thing on this post.

When you get enough links, just try to test out your main keywords by going to Yahoo.com and searching for your terms. If you see your post, URL or whatever on that first page, then you’ve definitely done enough. Of course, don’t settle for less, you should always try to build links for your website.

The more you build, the more search engines you find out about. But more importantly, the more search engines find out you. Well, technically, your website. :D

Some Other Search Engines Besides Google

Just based off of one of my sites, these are the various search engines that I have gotten traffic from (in no particular order):
Search.com
Yahoo.com
Bing.com
AOL.com
Ask.com
Virgilio.com
Altavista.com
