I also read theuniversitykid.com but I noticed it's not updating anymore. I don't think they ran out of topics to write or so, maybe they are just doing something or maybe investing on something else, i dunno.

But yeah, those blogs are great but as time pass by, they also age and fades. Proves that blog also passes out LOL.

Paul B nailed it. Pretty soon you find easier ways of making money and you only need to update your blog when you feel like it.

But the whole idea of the "day job" with bloggers always appalled me, if you're not earning money online full time why are you even blogging about it?

I think a lot of people are realising that blogging is not a quick and easy way to make money online and are losing interest in their blogs.

Thanks for the mention mate... :)

I took a few months off IM - perhaps being burnt out (of IM as a whole, not just blogging) was a part of it, but also wanted to enjoy life. Still young, what's the point of making the cash if you don't use it eh. :p

As for the blogs... I've never really liked the MMO niche as a whole, but I loved the relationships I built through blogging in it. To be honest, I liked blogging itself, but couldn't be bothered link building, SEO etc for a niche that I knew I wouldn't be trying to make money in (once you've built up that relationship of 'friends'... it's almost impossible for you to sell them something, at least for me). Perhaps the problem was being too friendly.

Setting up my IM office at the moment but once I get enough employees to do all the grunt work for me I'll be back. How long that takes, I dunno, as I've never been one to do things quick.

Hit me up on IM next time you're on, we'll catch up ;)

Those people are all interested in making money online. Sooner or later you come to realise that blogging about making money online is one of the least effective ways of making money online that there is. The clever blogger takes what he's learnt from this uber competitive niche and then translates that into a market where there are actual consumers interested in buying real products and not some half assed e-book (real value $99, I promise).

Blogging about real things is where the future is :)

If there's one guiding principle to writing good post, this is it, and it isn't as easy as it sounds. The temptation to turn writing into a numbers game is tantalizing and seductive. Most of us fall for it, especially when we're just starting out. There's also an element of competition involved. For example, many online marketing forums will have multiple threads at any given time with members bragging about how many posts they can write in a day. The notion that it's all about quantity seeps into a lot of minds this way. You have to work hard to avoid letting this take hold.

Writing a good, quality post takes time. It requires effort and discipline. In other words, it's not 'sexy.' It's hard, 'nose to the grindstone' work. But the motivation comes from understanding that the commitment to authoring only good post pays large dividends over the long haul. You will gain an impressive reputation as a writer. Your site(s) will gain authority in your niche. Your articles will be picked up by scores of others (along with your links). Your RSS feed will be posted to more blogs.
