A few weeks ago, I mentioned that I was testing out designing my own Wordpress theme and I was going to start from scratch. Well, I went with a very basic design just to get the feel for how it was going to turn out and I finally got a chance to finish up the mock design.
Check out my basic three-column Wordpress mock-up design theme (feel free to click on the image to see the large image):
I mentioned this in my previous post but as you can see from the screenshot, I used Photoshop to design my theme. One of the annoying parts that I kept running into is the fact that I was alternating between two different versions of Photoshop.
Why in the hell would I be doing something to annoy myself? Well, I didn’t do it on purpose and I try to work on it when I have opportunities. And with that said, I have Photoshop CS at home but another computer I use only has Photoshop 7. They work just the same except the fact that there are less features in 7 than there is in CS. And some of the control settings are different as well.
Again, the design is very basic only because I wanted to see how hard the next steps are going to be. I didn’t bother putting anything fancy within the design, no images or anything.
I’ve been thinking about the possibility of incorporating a business for all my online stuff but I never really knew how to. But recently, Wisteria Formation contacted me about it and they seem to have easy steps on how to form a company online.
I always thought on how to incorporate a business but I never had a chance to look into it. Honestly, I didn’t know how much work is actually involved. And on top of that, it could get pretty expensive as well. Out of the information I learned from Company Formation, they can do it easier and definitely less expensive.
What You Should Know About Incorporating a Business
There are a lot of things you should know about incorporating a business online. People tend to incorporate because they think its the right choice for them to protect themselves with the liability involved with it. For instance, if your business goes downhill or encounters some crazy problems, then you as the individual are not held responsible for the possible lawsuits, debt, etc.
When you end up doing business incorporation online, it requires shareholders, directors and officers. Of course, in a one person company, they can be all three.
Your business will also need to run according to the corporate laws within your state (and country). There are many steps that you must take to do so.
On top of that, there are a lot of fees you must pay. There are a lot of registration fees, lawyers, accountants, etc. And these fees could all add up.
The Pros of Incorporating a Business
There are a lot of pros with incorporating your business and that’s why most business owners end up doing it. Though, based on the last paragraph, you might seem like there’s not many pros for it. But from what I have researched, the pros is as follows:
- Protects you from the liability involved in running a business
- There are a lot of tax advantages that are only available for incorporated companies
- Your business can purchase real estate and conduct various business transactions under its own entity
- You as the individual/business owner cannot be held responsible for lawsuits or debt if your company goes downhill
- You can officially say you are an incorporated businessman/women
I’m sure there are plenty of other pros for incorporating your business but those are the key points. Feel free to let me know if I missed some so I can add it!
Again, this can be rather pricey and a long process and here’s where Wisteria Formations comes in.
Why you Should Use Wisteria Formations
If you’re looking for a Company Incorporation and need help, Wisteria seems like a good start. I’m sure once you start with them, you’ll be with them for a while.
But the best part, if you want to avoid all the expensive costs of hiring lawyers, accountants, etc, then this is the best option.
The reason why is the fact that Wisteria is a firm of accountants and advisers that are there to help you throughout the process with a set rate. The set rate is 24.99 Euros but you should get the most for your money rather than being charged by the hour from other accountants/advisers/lawyers.
They have a 10-step process, which may seem long but it’s actually a lot quicker than you’d think.
I was going through their website registration and the 10-steps are just your contact, company information, directors, secretary, shares, identification, registered office, bank, checkout and finish.
If that doesn’t seem like a quick process then I don’t know what is.
And I heard trying to get incorporate could take a while but if you go through Wisteria Formations then after you register with them, you get incorporated online.
The part that I liked is the fact that they have free consultation with tax advisers and accountants. I’m that type that asks a lot of questions and the fact that they have free telephone support is pretty handy too.
The main downfall I can see is that its located in Europe which isn’t exactly convenient to people in the states. I would only like to have them slightly closer just incase I want to ever meet them in person to sit down face to face.
Conclusion
I haven’t decided to incorporate my business just yet but its always nice to have all this information handy to you when needed. If you’re really serious about it then have a look at Wisteria Formations because they definitely look like a pretty quick and easy way to get your business incorporated.
Any questions? Comments?
It looks like there has been a Google Pagerank update in October 2009 and this time, its not too good. At least not for DatMoney and for those that are die hard fans of the infamous Pagerank.
I actually just stumbled across this by accident because I was checking how many backlinks my sites were getting and where its being linked from. I usually check sites (not just mine but various sites) at dnscoop because they tell you the Pagerank, how old the site has been around, the backlinks, Alexa rating, etc all on one page.
I noticed one of my sites’ Pagerank changed recently so I figured I would check my main sites. Since dnscoop updates like every week after you have checked a site, I just Googled “pagerank checker” and checked a few sites. That’s when I noticed DatMoney was a PR0.
Oh no! What am I going to do? How am I going to live life as a big zero?!

I was trying to get a couple of posts out this weekend but I haven’t had time, plus, I haven’t been home long enough to get these sent out. But I know it’s a little late but here’s this weeks free Blogger template. This week we have the Mystique template that was converted over from Wordpress.
If you guys have never seen the Mystique Wordpress version of this theme then you should definitely check it out. It has a very solid design with a very friendly interface and easy navigation. I think this could go with a entertainment or personal type blog. Personally, I probably wouldn’t go with this theme if you’re looking for a theme for a business niche or something equivalent.
Check out the Mystique theme screenshot below:
I actually like this theme a lot but obviously I’m not going to be using this for the money making niche or something equivalent. Its more of a fun type of theme. At least in my opinion it is.
I haven’t been updating as much as I used to but I still manage to get a few posts in every week on DatMoney. And since I started as an internet entrepreneur I came up with a lot of friends who started around the same time, have similar stats and so on… but the difference is, I still manage to keep my blog updated.
I understand that there are other projects that have priority, maybe a day job is taking over your life or there are some personal issues but it looks like more and more blogs that I came up with are slowly fading away. Some blogs have been sold, some barely update their blog once a month and some I question “what happened?”
Great and Helpful Posts vs. “Eh” Posts
I’m sure everyone would rather take great, useful and helpful type posts over anything. And I was once told (maybe not directly) that it’s better to write great posts less frequently than to write “eh” posts daily.
Quality over quantity. And yes, I definitely agree with that point. But of course, its the blog owners decision on what they want to write about.
But in the situation I’m talking about with blogs that aren’t as active, they don’t write useful posts once a month. Instead, they seem to just write a post just so they can keep their blog breathing… with a respirator.
What Happened to These Blogs?
I don’t mean to put these blogs out there but I was a big fan until it slowly started to fade away. Again, I’m sure they’re off to bigger and better things that probably prevent them from updating but come on, at least let your readers know what’s going on so they’re not just anxiously waiting for… nothing.
But here are some blogs that I used to follow regularly that have just faded away for whatever reason.
