So, the blog auction ended the other day and as of right now, there was no purchase. But that doesn’t mean it is officially over. The reason is the fact that apparently after your listing ends on flippa.com with no purchase, then your listing gets sent over to “private listings” for the next six months.
Now, I had a few serious bidders but it doesn’t seem as though any of them wanted to meet my reserve price so I am still here. I actually turned away a few paid reviews as well as a couple of advertisers in anticipation of a sale so I could send them over to the new owner but it looks like that won’t need to happen.
Luckily for me, there are companies that get response from my paid reviews and private ads that they continue to come back.
A commentator, Jon, mentioned that there was a drawback from why a potential buyer wouldn’t purchase DatMoney and its simply because I mentioned I was starting a new blog. I think there was a slight misunderstanding on that part because he (and I’m assuming others) thought it was just going to be a new entrepreneur blog. But I mentioned that it was going to be a more personal blog and not necessarily focused all on online entrepreneurship and making money.
I was just mentioning the fact of starting that type of blog so people can keep in touch with me if they wanted to. I’m hoping my subscribers stay with the potential new owner because I believe everyone has a chance to prove themselves. And if my subscribers approve, they will stay. If not, then it’s just like any other subscriber for any blog.
In addition, people subscribe for various blogs for different reasons. But the most important part is the content. So, if anybody was to take over and continued good content then they shouldn’t worry.
But I’m trying to get coordinated once again because I had a lot of switches I made, primarily with my hosting, e-mails, etc. So, if you sent me an e-mail and I have yet to respond, more than likely I haven’t received it yet because some minor issues transferring my e-mails from my host to my computer. Update: If you sent me an e-mail to the datmoney account, you might have received a bounce back. I believe I fixed the issue so please resend it. Thanks!
Anyways, I’m still in talks with some private bidders but as of right now, I will stay be here. I will still be updating DatMoney. And yes, I will try to keep you guys entertained!
Stay tuned! Don’t change that dial… or is it type in a different URL?

A blog is based on the person who built it. I don’t see any sense in buying one coz I cannot create the same content as the original creator I think a sold blog immediately looses its value. That’s just how I see it.
Well, we all know that you wanted to sell DatMoney for the cash buffer it would create against losing your job.
Maybe this will force you to think of new ways to raise money… and you can share them with us
Still tuned in….
Constantin is absolutely right. The auction is end up coz its a personal blog.It would be difficult for some one else to maintain it.one plus point for reader us..we will keep intouch with same quality of content as we were growing our mind’s strength.
Well, thats just the thing, people visit blogs because they even gets attached to the blogger…But if the blogger disappears then the subscribers may hang around to see what the new owner offers…If the old owner still has a blog somewhere then they may tend to follow them…I think this seller is trying to make some money with this blog while still hoping to start a new blog and gain immediate traffic…After all, he does blog about making money online….But, I think this is a risky buy for the new owner…For the price, it might be better to start a brand new blog…At the current earnings it will take two years to make the money back, two years is plenty time to establish a new blog…I just dont see how this is worth it to buy…The blog is worth a lot of money but to the original owner…anyway good luck dude….But I’m expressing my opinions
Hey dude glad your site wasn’t sold.
Anyways good luck with the future sales and if this site got sold in the future then good luck to both the new owner and you…
Well good luck with the private listings, I hope you don’t sell it to be honest. We will miss you too much if you leave.
Looks like you here alittle longer:). If no one buys it in six months, maybe you should keep it and continue to work on it.
Sorry you didn’t sell but I can’t help but feel a little happy that I won’t miss out on your great posts.
Well finally, you got a decision. To be honest i am glad you didn’t sold it out. I read lots of good posts here and i intend to read more others.
this is a tough decision of you, but good luck man.
Sorry to hear the sale didn’t go through. I can’t imagine it’s easy selling a blog with all of the blogs on Flippa.
Let us know when it’s listed and I’ll try and help spread the word.
Good luck.
Phil
Phil – I’m actually still getting offers for it but I’m sticking by my guns with the reserve/BIN prices. And technically, it’s listed in the “private listings” for the next six months…
But thanks man!
Jay
This blog is your brain child and you are the only one who could nurture it. Please do not sell it because without you Datmoney would lose its feel and taste for which I’m visiting it so often. Please have a second thought.
I think selling your blog is not at all a good idea considering the popularity of your blog. In fact you should try to promote it much more and you can earn more for a life time. This blog would be dead without you. You can always open a new blog without selling this one, isn’t it?

Chris – As of right now, I am not selling the blog anymore. We’ll see what happens but I have decided not to sell unless something crazy happens.
