So, I’ve been going with this mini experiment on “How to Get More Twitter Followers” and so far so good. And yes, everything is automated and yes, you can in fact get targeted traffic as well.
Update and Traffic Stats from Twitter
I first wrote the post at the end of May and about seven weeks later, I am currently following 1,293 and have 511 followers. Matter of fact, since my last update I haven’t done anything except update my status with two different links to my posts. And since then, I have gotten about 50-60 visitors that have stayed on my blog for about a minute and a half, the bounce rate has been in the 50s and the average visitor from Twitter checked out almost 2 pages/posts.
I know that doesn’t seem like a lot but some people have questioned if you could even get targeted traffic with this method. Well, if everything is automated and the only thing you need to do is update your status with a link or two, is it worth it? Definitely.
Does It Work?
Yes! A lot of people can get more visitors in a shorter time but since I’m doing everything automated, I want to do it slower to avoid getting caught and possibly have my account banned. The automated following has me following 1,293 over a seven week span which isn’t too bad. And I think I should stay under the radar, somewhat.
At this rate, next month I should probably double in followers and hopefully I’ll double (or more) in traffic.
Next Step: Turn Twitter Visitors to Subscribers
Now as I continue with this ongoing mini experiment, I’m going to try to combine two methods of mine together. Use Twitter (automatically) to get traffic and convert those visitors into RSS Feed subscribers.
There are plenty of ways of doing this and more than likely I’m going to try a few of them out. Obviously, my password protected posts have been great for me to gain subscribers so I’ll try to implement that strategy. Once I hit 1,000 subscribers, I said I was going to have a contest to celebrate so I’ll try to implement that as well. Finally (but not the last method), I will just try to have enticing titles and good content so hopefully they find it interesting enough to subscribe as well as be a follower.
Any questions or updates of your own? Let me know!

Will try to incorporate it, currently my twitter account @iamwallstreet has 9,000 followers so I would like to figure out a way to get more of them to become followers of my site
Good post. How to use Twitter to give you the most accurate and profitable research you’ve ever had, handed to you on a silver platter with a little napkin to wipe the drool off your face from the prospect of all that extra money.
Agree this system works as I have been using it and my Traffic Numbers through Twitter are way up.
I’ll have a bash at this, I’ve ben using Twitter for personal use but I think using it to increase exposure to my blog is a good idea.
Nice Post dude !! me too using the same methodology !!
Targeted twitter users are really good site visitors – I’ve found that they stay around longer than usual and subscribe more frequently.
I don’t really get how Twitter can work commercially. If you have thousands of followers, and they in turn follow hundreds of people, your tweets will only be visible for a very short space of time.
that’s mainly how I get and keep things rolling! All I do is update every other day then more people follow me. This can be very beneficial if you continue to stay updated.
