Google Image Search Can Drastically Increase Your Adsense Earnings

money stacks

If you’re not including images in your posts then you are definitely missing out on more than just the traffic you could be getting from Google Image Search, you could potentially be losing out on money.

I’m sure most of you guys are aware of Google Image Search, it’s nothing new. It’s basically a search engine by Google targeting images rather than content. Of course, you still have to target keywords to help you with your indexing.

When using images, you just want to put the keywords as the alt tags and you should be able to rank within Google Image Search and it should work similar to how you would normally rank keywords within your content.

Depending on what niche you’re in, you could potentially be making more and getting a lot more traffic. Though, you could always just take advantage of Google Images and focus on getting that traffic specifically.

How? That’s very easy, make an image blog.

Just create a standard Wordpress blog and just start adding pictures while putting your keywords as the alt tags.

Simple enough if you ask me.

Now you want to plug your Adsense on the top of the post, on the side and on the bottom of it. Essentially, the image would be right in the middle of all of it.

You also want to make the image URL as “Post URL” that way when people click on the image, they take you to another post of just the image with your Adsense ads around it.

I have tried this and simply made like 10 posts/pages of just images with a few sentences for each and once you get ranked in Google Images, you will know.

How? Well, first you will see drastic spikes in your traffic (depending on your images and if people are searching for them) and you should see your Adsense increase as well.

I’ll write a more detailed post sometime in the future but essentially using this method and rise and repeating it will keep your earnings steady without you having to do much maintenance after setting it up.

Of course, you can sell the site when you feel the site has reached its peak in earnings too. :D

Great post! I often forget about images, but I just re-learned the lesson when an image I posted got several thousand hits to a blog post I wrote a while back.

If only I had AdSense there!!! Doh!

I totally agree with what you are saying. I also notice an increase in traffic when I add images to Flickr with a description and link pointing back to my posts.

    Great post (as always)…

At first, I find it weird seeing that Google redirects traffic to my site through images. Now, I love images so much since they drive more traffic to me.

Where do you get the images from?

If you recycle ones you find on the web or via Google images you’re breaching Copyright law and could be in trouble, down the track.

Only way to be safe is to use your own original images, otherwise, expect a C & D notice…

I’d be writing descriptive captions for the images as well, Jay.

I’ve seen the text around an image make a dramatic difference to the way Google’s image search ranks the images.

Nice tip though – thanks! :-)

Seems to me like a shortened version on one of Jason’s posts.:) But it is a good idea. On another blog, I did not do very much promotion for it, though an image that I used gained me a lot of traffic and publicity for the site.
You might need to explain the part about putting the keywords as the alt tags, but I think your idea could work really well otherwise.

Great post here! I always try to remember to put Alt code along with my images. However, I don’t have adsense around the images, but an image blog would be a great idea. I’m going to have to try that out.

@ Dipoh – Don’t forget title tags on the images as well.

I actually think that these hold more weight with the search engines than alt tags on images.

When using images, use the proper “Alt” tag. For your websites header type the whole name of your website. In addition, search engine will be using the “Alt” tag to reference image searches done by a user. Content creation techniques require the proper usage of the “Alt” tag.
