DatMoney Weekly Updates 5 – Let’s Go!

Sunday, February 8th, 2009 | Weekly Updates with 10 Comments

weekly-update

I haven’t had a chance to do too many weekly updates simply because I’ve been busy with these projects that take longer than expected. But let’s go over some quick updates so I can try to answer some questions I keep getting through e-mail.

Password to My $100/Day Adsense Post – I mention this on every single weekly update only because I continue to get a lot of people e-mailing asking for the password because they never received it. I don’t have an automatic responder so I do this manually. And I try to e-mail out the password in batches once or twice a month because 1) you guys get a chance to read some of my posts instead of just that just the password protected ones and 2) so I’m not e-mailing everyone individually with the password.

If you took the time to e-mail me, more than likely I responded to you (except if you e-mailed within the past couple of days). Other than that, the rest of you guys will get the password soon enough.

eBook Status – I started to work on a couple of them but I don’t want to hurry it up and just release some garbage eBooks. I see so many of them out there that I just want the ones I write to actually be pretty decent and helpful.

Additionally, the first one I’m going to release will probably be a simpler one so I can get a feel on how you guys like it. And just a heads up, my e-mail subscribers will get this first eBook for free so make sure you look out for that sometime in the near future.

Site Flipping Teams – I sent an e-mail out to those that were interested before in creating a website with me and then selling it for a profit. I only heard back from a couple of you guys, and I basically asked for you guys to start brainstorming on ideas for niche and stuff so we can get it underway.

And if anyone else is interested in joining, please let me know. But keep in mind, I’m looking for people that are somewhat dedicated and are good with communicating.

Sponsoring Your Contests – I was asked if I’d be interested in sponsoring some contests and with what. To answer the question, I would be interested if you are holding one but I’m going to assume I would get some benefit from it. More than likely I’d sponsor ad space for a month on either of my blogs, possibly banner designs, text links and stuff like that.

Of course, I can’t sponsor everyone so it’ll be more of a first come first serve.

I Considered Selling DatMoney – Yes, you’ve read right. I did consider selling DatMoney simply for the fact that I needed quite a lot of money to pay off some bills. But after thinking about it for quite sometime, I decided to hold off on it. And honestly, it was simply because of you guys that take the time to network with me, comment on my blog, subscribe, visits daily, etc.

Since you guys continue to support me, I will do my best to try to support you guys. So, thank you everyone!

And that’s a quick update for you guys that were interested.

I Have Been Certified With GOYFA!

Friday, February 6th, 2009 | Blogging - MISC, Other/Random with 19 Comments

Just the other day, I received an e-mail that really got my attention. I laughed a lot but then again, I think it was more of a motivational message more than anything. But essentially, I was presented with a certificate and seal for GOYFA.

If you guys are wondering what in the hell GOYFA stands for or if you guys are congratulating me on receiving this award – don’t.

I received this award not as a good thing (even though it was hilarious) but I received this award simply due to the fact that I “demonstrated the proper skill and devotion that it takes to be a true fat ass.”

Yes, you read correctly. “A true fat ass.”

And if you haven’t guessed it by now, GOYFA actually stands for “Get Off Your Fat Ass!”

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not fat or anything but I received this certificate simply because I didn’t manage to stay on my goal of $5,000/month for January. Of course, the reason is simply the fact that I openly admitted that I was lazy and I procrastinate a little more than I should.

I’m not exactly sure who actually sent me this certificate because it was addressed from “Hugh Jass.” And for those you guys that think that’s a real name, just say that name three more times and you’ll get that it’s a fake one.

Again, hilarious but more towards motivation to “get off my fat ass” and work towards my goal instead of being lazy.

Below is the attachment of the certificate so you guys can take a look and laugh with me.

GOYFA Certificate

All I know is – don’t be like me when it comes to being lazy and procrastinating because who knows, you’ll end up getting certified as a GOYFA!

Oh, also, I’d like to know who sent this to me. I really laughed my ass off on this one.

Road to Making $60,000/Year Online – The Official Intro

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009 | Blogging - MISC, Make Money Online, Other/Random with 23 Comments

road-to-money

I briefly mentioned in a previous post under my 2009 Goals that I wanted to try and make $60,000 for the year with all my online projects. Of course, that is a big step and it will take a lot of dedication and work (with hopefully minimal procrastination and laziness) but I need to step it up a little bit.

Why Choose $60,000/year Out of All the Numbers?

I’m sure you guys are wondering why I chose $60,000 for my set goal and honestly, there aren’t too many reasons behind it. My main goal is to make enough money in a year to keep myself living comfortably and I also wanted to set a price that is more than the average salary for a typical day job.

I’m sure some of you guys are aware that I do in fact have a day job which takes up some time but it’s mainly as a safety net incase I completely burn out with this online stuff. I mean, with the way the economy looks nowadays I almost have to have a safety net.

Plus, if I get laid off I get a crazy package deal that would essentially keep me set for the next 8-10 months with my full salary in that time span.

But not only that, I have a lot of student loans to pay back so I need all the money I can get. Also, I get killer benefits that I can’t even describe. And yes, health insurance and all that are expensive if you pay out of your own pockets. Unfortunately for me, I live in a state where it is required to have all that stuff.

Lastly, I figured $5,000/month is definitely a reasonable goal and a pretty easy number to round to. :D

Football Goals

How Am I Going To Accomplish This Goal?

I’ve learned a lot within the past year especially testing out various things to see what works best for me. I’m going to take that knowledge and run with it. I’ve drastically increased my knowledge with keyword research and I’m just taking action and hopefully all of it pays off.

I’ll go into more details on the specific things I plan on doing to help reach this goal but honestly, I think I already discussed the various things that helps me make my steady online income to begin with here. It’s nothing new or special but the difference is the fact that I’m pulling myself away from that group that doesn’t take action.

Where Do I Stand Currently?

Honestly, I’m not 100 percent sure because I haven’t had a chance to tally up January’s income just yet because I’ve been busy and it was SuperBowl Sunday yesterday so I wasn’t around too much. But I can definitely tell you that I’m behind because I’m sure I didn’t make $5,000 for the month.

I’m not too worried about that, though. The reason is simply the fact that if you have been working online for a while, you should know that you have down months and you have those spectacular months.

$60,000/year Profit?

I haven’t decided yet but I’m leaning towards making my goal as a net profit. There’s no guarantee on that, of course, because that would require me to keep track of all my expenses.

Though, I’m going to try my best to make that my net profit because I hate when people make posts like “I Made $10,000 this Month!” but yet they spent $9,500 to make that total. So, in essence, they only made $500 for the month.

But that’s usually from PPC affiliate marketing and I’m not exactly sure if I’m going to lean in that direction. If I come across something I can’t turn down then I will do it so you never know.

Plus, the only expenses I currently have is paying for hosting, domains and the occasional fee for using some service. For instance, selling a product on Clickbank costs money, having your site listed to sell costs money, etc.

Lights, Camera, Action

Lights, Camera and Take Action, Action, Action!

I’m like a lot of you guys, I don’t take action as much as I should because of my procrastination and laziness. Sometimes I just don’t feel motivated, I don’t have time or simply get caught up with something else.

But I can’t use that excuse anymore and neither should any of you guys. I’m sure you guys don’t want to be that person that dreams and wishes for things thinking it’s going to just fall into your lap.

If you are extremely lucky then it might but the chances are slim to none. I mean, I dream of winning the lottery but even that would require me to take action and buy a lottery ticket. You can’t accomplish your dreams and goals if you never take action!

Well, this is my official introduction to my $60,000/year goal and I will definitely keep you guys updated!  Let’s hope I shatter this goal by this time next year!
