Thanks for the guide Jay, I’m going to be experimenting with site flipping soon, and it strikes me that you are right in saying that the most key elements of flipping are the research you do into the market beforehand, and the sales pitch you write when it comes to auction.

I have never try site flipping before and is pretty keen on doing it. Your article gives me a better idea on site flipping and I might try doing it in the free time. I was taking a look at SitePoint the other day and noticed a whole lot of great established sites or domains that were being sold for cheap.

The economy is bad, so if you wouldn’t mind holding a site/domain for over a year, this is the time to buy. I assume site flipping is much harder to do now. I was surprised that “TUK” didn’t get bids over $5k, but slyvisions got huge bids.

The time factor is especially critical to take into account. If you can make a site in 1 week and sell it for $1k it is better than making a site in 20 weeks and selling it for $10k.

Time would be my biggest factor, as I like to have everything just right…after that I think it might be difficult to actually let it go!

I’m sure many amateur flippers have the same problems.

Very nice post dude.
Especially since it seems as though the number of site flips has skyrocketed.
You pretty much covered everything but, you said that “if you feel as though you’re spending too much time on it then more than likely you are” and people just need to realize that it is not a 3 day job. It will take more work than most think.
