I think another consideration is the marketplace where you sell your website. It seems most potential buyers are interested in two things: traffic and monthly revenue. Nonetheless, a helpful post. Kudos!

If I would to buy a website, I will consider how easy the website can be copied. For example, does it have huge amount of content in database or does it use some soft of complex algorithm like ranking websites. The reason why I consider about this is because when you get big, there are always copy cats who try to share the market with you.

@Paul Scott - You can fix the price at roughly 10 to 12 times the revenue that your blog is earning at present - thats the norms but you can always tag it at a higher price if you have a high PR and tons of backlinks or good position in SERPs for potent keywords. Actually there is no set scale to rate a site - it purely depends on a Demand and Supply basis.

You have said it all - thanks for the descriptive guidance. Out of all the points that you have mentioned the four most important ones that sets a sites price are 1.A unique and brandable domain name, 2.PR, 3.Backlinks and 4.Subscribers. And if your site ranks well for even a moderately searched keyword phrase then it is worth its value in gold - you can demand a hefty price for it and there will be no derth of buyers.

Great articles. How do you calculate how much a site is worth? Can you set the price on monthly multiples of how much it generates?

Wow, how much weight does domain name has in it? I guess it's important for branding and relevance. But I would have thought domain name wasn't that important, it was the content that was the king.

Must say, I can't think of any other key areas that you haven't already stated. What do you find as primary selling point though? Although I do not personally seeing it as any big relevance, but I sell most of mine based on GPR... but in a way, that works out well for me as I can achieve GPR 5 with any site quicker than Mary Poppins and pick her nose.

Uniqueness is important, however, if the site is making money without being unique then that would definitely count for something.

It is impossible to rank these in order of importance. The fact is it depends on the skills and interests of the individuals.
