With so many projects and so many things going on right now, I had to push a few things aside. And when I push things aside, I tend to forget to get myself back into it. Well, one of the many things I had to push aside was affiliate marketing. But I will be getting back into it within the next month.

There were a few reasons why I pushed affiliate marketing aside but one of the main reasons was the fact that affiliate marketing is a business where you have to spend money to make money. And recently, I had projects that didn’t require me spending a dime so I put that as my priority.

Most, if not all, super affiliates use PPC click ads as their main source of getting traffic to their landing pages. You spend $1,000 and try to double that profit. Well, I was working on other projects to save money so I could invest my time into it.

I’m no expert but I feel I’m more than capable of making $x,xxx profit strictly from affiliate marketing. Of course, no one really starts off making a profit (from PPC affiliate marketing) but we’ll see what I can do.

I’m also getting back into affiliate marketing because I felt I was letting a lot of people down. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure no one has been disappointed in me for working on projects that was giving me great revenue to begin with but then again, there are so many people wanting to know more. And let’s not forget all these affiliate networks out there and great companies, especially Market Leverage .

Honestly, Market Leverage has been the most supporting affiliate company that I have ever dealt with. Trust me, it’s not because they sponsor great gifts for my contests or purchase advertising, they really are there to help you as much as they can. I’ve dealt with a handful of people from the ML crew and every single person has been great.

Yes, I’m brown-nosing a bit but they definitely deserve every compliment they get.

Besides letting some readers and affiliate networks down, I let a few other people I know in person down as well. I was supposed to help people from my experience but it didn’t happen like I wanted it to. And honestly, I don’t want to be one of those people who has the knowledge but just never takes the time out to actually focus and work on it.

Are you one of those types?

I mean, I’ve written over 200+ posts on here and a majority of them are actually useful. At least, I think so. I mean, I talked about site flipping a bit, how to increase your Adsense earnings, increasing your RSS Feed subscribers, a little SEO, I mean, the list goes on. And I’m sure if you only read just a few of these posts, you’ll make at least a few hundred, or even thousands of dollars with minimal work.

But besides making money, you can also avoid losing money as I tend to write a few things to avoid as well.

Either way, I don’t want to be one of those types of people that have the knowledge and talent but are too damn lazy. So, after I finish my list of projects, I will reinvest my time into affiliate marketing.

And so should you !

Well sometimes other things are just more in important than marketing. I guess having too much on your plate at times things go by the wayside.
I have learned that you can not market too many things because you dilute your traffic and make hardly or no sales.

Laziness is your biggest enemy! Don’t lose to it!

I actually started with affiliate marketing a few weeks ago but had to pause because my AdWords account recently got “slapped”. I’m in the process of getting things back to how they were, so I guess I’m also getting back to affiliate marketing.

    Good luck with your success!

I’m starting with Amazon recently, what about you?

Marketleverage is not perfect (yet) as it requires me to fill-out a form, and I know other vendors do not require that (I’m a non-US person!)

Some forms of Affiliate Marketing do require a lot of money invested in research and testing. Not everybody can afford to lose tens or even hundreds of $ when starting out. However there are other forms of Affiliate Marketing that require minimal budget and a lot of manual work (e.g. article marketing). People could start there and build it up.

:) I rather try to make money from affiliate programs that give you a free website. I would social network as a means of obtaining traffic. I don’t like the idea of paying for PPC ads that do not work. It takes too much. You will be paying double just to make half the profit back. PPC is a tricky thing. Unless you pay for an outsourcing company to do the PPC research for you, there is no need in even bothering. I say stick to social networking :)

@Codrut - I’ve joined ML 3 months ago (I’m from Bucharest also ;) ), but because I didn’t do any campaigns with them and they’ve closed my account. I was a bit upset because I wanted to compete in Tyler Cruz’s 4th Affiliate Marketing Challenge. Anyways, you should contact them, they will call you back. Real nice people.

Well anyway, affiliate marketing is the big way to make money online.. I feel.

    Hey Andrei,

Kyle here from MarketLeverage. I apologize for any confusion about your account being closed. Back in mid September, we announced that on October 1, 2008 we would officially be closing all publisher accounts that provided incentive traffic, as we were no longer going to offer incentive campaigns to promote. If you happened to have missed the notification email, I once again apologize for the confusion we may have caused for you.

    Sincerely,
    Kyle McCall

It would seem that most of the super affiliates don’t really join affiliate networks. They just promote directly.
