For quite sometime, this blog has been labeled a MMO (Make Money Online) blog and/or a Blogging Tips blog. I don’t mind either or but I’m actually considering changing the niche slightly. I may consider titling it more of an Entrepreneur blog.
I have been thinking about this for quite sometime now. I don’t want visitors to come here and their first reaction is “oh my god, not another MMO freakin’ blog!” I mean, people have turned the MMO niche into crap that I shouldn’t even be labeled under it anymore. Who wants to be labeled in the same niche as all these fakes or don’t earn a dime online? Or all these people who have no idea what they’re doing to make money online but they still manage to start a MMO blog.
Well, not me.
If you look at all these successful blogs like Tylercruz.com, Theuniversitykid.com, Johncow.com, etc, they’re more of entrepreneur types rather than MMO. I mean, none of them really claim themselves as MMO niche blogs but rather entrepreneurs doing than thang to make money on the internet.
design logos and banners, I make money blogging and I try to find unique ways of making money online. Now, I consider myself an entrepreneur because I am making money online in different ways. I’m not even close with the big boys so I’m not going to act like I am.
Basically, I’m starting to dislike MMO blogs more and more. And I think I have that same feeling like everyone else when I stumble across a MMO blog and the owner of it is clueless and basically a fake. We all see that; bloggers start a MMO blog, read from a more successful MMO blog and then write in their own words basically what someone else said.
A few instances: One blogger I saw wrote an article on how to get RSS Feed subscribers and increase readership… but yet, they had like 24 subscribers. Now, if you can’t follow your own tips on how to increase your RSS Feed subscribers, who in the right mind would follow those tips?
Next instance, I saw a blogger constantly write “how to get tons of traffic… blah, blah, blah” but when I checked their stats, they struggle to get daily visitors. I guess in their eyes, 50-70 visitors daily is getting “tons of traffic.”
Lastly, and this must be the best one of all – the bloggers who write posts like “make money doing this and that.” The funniest part is when you read their monthly income reports, it totals $23.74. Yup, they made tons of money doing this and that. Honestly, I think I know some bums who beg for change who make more than that.
Sorry, I went on a mini-rant, but what I’m trying to say is I’m going to probably change so this blog is labeled more of an entrepreneur blog. I’m not going to change what I write about, how I help people, well, nothings really going to change except for the label of this blog.
I just figured I’d let you guys all know!

You have your point Jay. Sometimes, a lot of people are giving tips but those tips don’t work for them. I think it should “Share only the things that worked for you”…

Jay:
You can never go wrong on the entrepreneurship route. Usually the recipe for success in entrepreneurship is industry (hard work), drive, determination, vision and product and/or services to market to the consumer. Plus, most people never get rich working for someone else unless they get a nice stock-option package at the start-up phase. I say “go for it” if it is something that you want to do. Heck, you’re already doing it under the MMO niche. Make it happen even bigger.
I am glad you aren’t staying in the MMO niche. I was trying to get into that, though I wasn’t really writing posts on making money. I just did that because I thought MMO summed up all to do with making money online, having blogging tips and young entrepreneur fall into that category. I am glad I steered away, though my blogging tips can still help others make money online. Good choice!
I agree with you about what you say, but anyone can fake a “check” from an affiliate program. If you spend $10,000 building PPC campaigns, and then receive a check for $7,500 you can still show your HUGE PAYOUT even though you lost 2500. I think the behind the scenes will always be the real story, but I do like your concept! Keep up the great posts, and get me my link from your banners page
I am so tired of MMO blogs where the author has no clue about what they are talking about

MMO Blogs = Fail buddy. Good to see you’re considering moving out of it.
I dont see much difference between the two terms. It depends on how you see

Well I completely agree!
I am also thinking of changing my blog from a ‘personal finance’ niche to more of an ‘entrepreneurial’ niche. And even narrowing that down to the ’struggling entrepreneur’ niche.
What do you think?
Good luck with choosing your niche
It’s important to have a good flagship blog no matter what direction you want to take it.
I’ve pretty much gone the route of product reviews and buying guides on OpTempo with a couple of MMO or blogging posts a month thrown in.

Actually it is nothing wrong with make money online blog as long as the blog has good content and insights. However, too many people using make money online as their blog label [too popular]; a lot of them don’t know what they talk about to write tips on how to make money. So the good make money online blog screwed up by this.
You want to distinguish your blog from MMO, which can be understood.
“Entrepreneurs” this terms seems heavy to me! Too serious. Too business. Rich Dad | Poor Dad. Millionaire next door. Millionaire’s mind.
Yea it seems the MMO niche is over saturated.
