Search Engine Traffic = More Money (Seriously this time!)

Thursday, July 31st, 2008 | Blogging for Traffic, Make Money Online with 15 Comments

Paula Patton

The other day I wrote “Search Engine Traffic = More Money and More RSS Subscribers” but I only mentioned how search engine traffic can increase RSS Feed subscribers (even though some people were simply distracted by the pics of Beyonce), well, let me write about the making more money part of it.

Before I continue with how search engine traffic can make you more money, for the record, after I wrote the first post about how search engine traffic can help gain more RSS Feed subscribers, I implemented that strategy on a few posts with popular keywords and I have gained about 35 e-mail subscribers excluding ones counted for my current Market Leverage Nintendo Wii contest .

Honestly, I think most of this stuff is self-explanatory but if there are a lot of people who still have no idea what RSS Feeds are then there must be a lot of people who have no idea that search engine traffic is what helps bloggers make money.

First, let’s start off with Google Adsense. I think a majority of bloggers rely on Adsense ads to make money from their blogs, yet, some of those same bloggers complain why no one clicks on their ads. Do you know why? It’s because those people do not get search engine traffic . Or at least not enough.

If you think about it, your fellow readers most likely aren’t the ones who will be clicking on those ads, it’s the people who end up on your site looking for something specific. The ones that were in search for something to begin with. Of course if they don’t find what they’re looking for, those ads are right there to entice them to continue their search without going through the search engine process all over again.

I continually see people questioning why they only make $0.02 a day from adsense but they supposedly get thousands of visitors a day. When people say stuff like that, more than likely they only know how to get traffic from social media sites like StumpleUpon, Digg, etc.

Guess what? People from social media sites don’t click on adsense ads . And if they do, more than likely they hate your site so much they’re trying to get you banned from Google.

Market Leverage Nintendo Wii Contest

So, here we go with another great contest sponsored by the one and only Market Leverage . Now, I always like to come up with some fun things for contests and try to separate myself from all the rest. With that said, I decided to go with the Market Leverage and DatMoney “Getting Approved” Contest to win this brand new Nintendo Wii!

What in the hell? “Getting Approved?!”

Yup, you heard right. It’s the “Getting Approved” contest. Now let me explain.

I kept telling you guys that I wanted to make contests fun but this time around I didn’t want to make it so easy that a random person could possibly win for doing absolutely nothing. I preach for my loyal readers and visitors so I figured you guys definitely wouldn’t mind doing an extra step for a chance to win this Nintendo Wii.

Don’t worry, all the ways to enter is easy, it’s getting approved that’s going to be the hard part… well, not really.

Basically, to enter, you will have to sign up for something and get approved for it. Don’t worry, everything is absolutely free, all of these things are easy to get approved for and most importantly, you can earn money for each option.

Making Money Blogging Just Got A Lot Easier

Sunday, July 27th, 2008 | Blogging - Design, Make Money Online with 10 Comments

I think making money blogging just got easier for me and it will for all of you guys. Now, I don’t want to jump the gun or anything but I decided it was going to get a lot easier to make money blogging. Especially if you have multiple blogs that have high trafficked search terms with low competition.

How?

Well, remember when I said I was going to test out different niches to report back to you guys on which ones would make more money? I’m still working on that but let’s say my Google Adsense earnings have slowly been claiming higher since I started this mini project.

It’s interesting because I read a post on Theuniversitykid.com on how you should “Relax if you want to make money” and just from that one post, it reminded me that I was trying way to hard. If you try to force it, you’re just putting added pressure on one person – yourself. And that’s exactly what I was doing with my “I will make $3,000 with a budget of $100 this month.”

For the record, I’m not going to meet my goal of $3,000 this month because I realized I procrastinate… a lot. Plus, we all want to do easy things and just watch our revenue grow, right? I mean, that’s what affiliate marketers do. They set up a landing page for a particular product and set up PPC advertising to get traffic and then watch their campaign and money skyrocket.

I want to do limited work and just slowly watch my money grow. Well, this is not just a random rambling, I’m actually doing that. I know I said I won’t make my $3,000 goal this month but it’s also because the projects that I’m working on right now takes a little time. I’m working for the future and not necessarily for right this second.

Basically what I’m saying is I’m working on projects that will require very minimal work to make money, it just takes a little time to get everything set up. I mean, who wants to pressure and stress themselves into making money when you should be doing the opposite to do better!

Don’t worry, I will keep you guys updated on my projects. Well, most of them anyways.

Side note: I was going to launch the contest post the other day but my all my sites were down for a few hours each of the last couple of mornings so I wasn’t able to update.  Of course, I wasn’t home for most of the day so you guys didn’t get an update for the last couple of days.  MY hosting apologizes to you guys!

Google Pagerank Update: Again, It’s Still Just a Number

Sunday, July 27th, 2008 | Blogging for Traffic, Other/Random with 10 Comments

Google updated its pagerank and all I have to say is: Google Pagerank is just a number, who cares? I’ve been preaching that for a while because it won’t stop traffic from coming to your site, you’ll still be listed in search engines and if you’re good enough at SEO, then you should have no problem.

For instance, a friend of mine recently got knocked down to a PR0 and you would think it affected his search engine traffic but nope, it didn’t. He still gets thousands of uniques each day.

So, like I said, Google Pagerank is just a number, who cares?

I checked and it looks like a couple of my sites got knocked down from PR4 to PR3 – including DatMoney.com – but a few of my newer blogs got PR2 from PR0. But when it came down to it, none of my search engine traffic got affected by this update either.

What I’m trying to say is, don’t rely on Pagerank so much because it’s not that important. I know a bunch of people who has PR5’s but they barely get search engine traffic. On the other hand, I know people who have no pagerank at all that gets thousands of search engine traffic still… so I guess when it comes down to it, if you know SEO then you’re all set.

And if you don’t, pagerank or no pagerank, it’s not going to help you either way.

Market Leverage Contests Around the Blogosphere You May Want to Enter

Thursday, July 24th, 2008 | Contests with 6 Comments

Not only am I having another blog contest sponsored by Market Leverage, but tons of other blogs are having similar ones with various prizes. I will be launching my contest within the next day or two. I know some people are excepting an easy contest but I think I’m going to make a little harder this time around.

But in the meantime, you can check out these other great Market Leverage contests. Check out the list of Market Leverage blog contests that I have found below:

Bloggin-Ads.com is not only going to be selling his blog but he’s having a Market Leverage contest giveaway to go out with a bang. So, you will only have a few days left before a new owner fills in the shoes of Mike. Prizes include an iPod Touch, rewards card and iTunes gift card.

Hurry! That deadline is July 27th.

Enkayblog.com is another blogger collaborating with Market Leverage to give away great prizes. His prizes include a Laptop (yup, a freakin’ Laptop!), a rewards card and USB pens. If you write a post, make sure to include a link to his post and Market Leverage.

That deadline is August 4th.

Myinvestingblog.com is hosting a ML contest and giving out $300 worth of rewards card. There are plenty of choices but it all surrounds answering the question “If you were given $50,000 today, what would you spend it on?” Well, personally I’d pay off all my debts and invest my money into new online projects.

That deadline is August 6th.

Inspiredmoneymaker.com is having a ML contest with similar prizes to my first ML contest. The prizes include a Flip Mino, rewards card and USB Pens. Wait, where’s the iPod? I guess it’s not exactly like mine. But it’s a easy as commenting to enter.

That deadline is August 14th.

TylerCruz.com looks like he’s having an Affiliate Marketing Challenge Season 2, too bad many of us are already members of ML. And to think, some of his prizes are pretty good – 22” Monitor, Sony PSP, Flip Mino, iPod Nano, $100 reward cards and USB Pens.

If you guys want a chance to win a USB Pen, you can write an entire post about his competition. And it can’t be a small mention within another post like I’m doing. Well Tyler, I don’t need a USB Pen! :P Shoot, lucky I’m giving his contest a shout out lol!

That deadline is August 14th.

Theuniversitykid.com is having a simple ML contest and unlike all others, his is actually for a relatively good cause. He’s helping Debby and Jen of Market Leverage with their breast cancer money raising. Well, kind of. But check out his post for the details, again, it’s easy to enter and it’s going to a good cause.

His prizes include a Nintendo Wii and a Flip Mino. Oh, I’m supposed to mention one reason why Market Leverage and TUK rock… well, that’s easy, they’re made of stone. No? Not funny? Fine, fine, ML rocks cause they’re one of the hottest affiliate networks and TUK rocks because he’s going to magically draw my name out the randomizer to win the Nintendo Wii. :P

That deadline is August 15th.

MixedMarketarts.com is having a ML contest with prizes that include a Flip Mino, 10 USB Pens and 4 $25 gift cards. Collin redid his blog contest so everyone can enter. You can enter simply by linking to his Marketleverage Review page with a blog post. See, just as simple as that!

That deadline is August 20th.

Don’t worry, I’ll be announcing my own ML contest tomorrow or the next day to win that Nintendo Wii.  Check back or just subscribe to my RSS Feeds.
