texas holdem poker I know what you’re thinking, "why should I play poker to make money? I’m taking a risk! I’ll lose money!" Well, if you think about it, a majority of bloggers lose more money than you think and they probably invest a lot more time into it than playing poker online.

Okay, a lot of people don’t know how to play poker but I bet you it’ll take less time to learn all the details than it would to learn other ways of making money online, especially with blogging.

Think about it. Blogging requires you to continue writing about the latest trends and news (or just write in general), you have to socialize and network, you have to promote, promote, promote, and even after learning the curves, it’s still not a guarantee! Sounds like gambling to me, and if that’s the case, you might as well make money online playing poker.

I mean, I can guarantee you that if you’re an affiliated marketer you’ll spend more money - and I mean a LOT more money - and yes, the rewards might be slightly greater but playing Texas Holdem poker can make you just as much.

Also, right now most people probably spend at least a couple hundred dollars for hosting, design work, advertising and promotion, etc to start up their blogging career. And for most people, it’s a one way street of spending and never earning enough, or at all. You may think you’re making some change each day with Google Adsense but if you don’t hit that $100 mark, technically, you’re make nothing at all .

My last point, I bet most people spend a lot more time trying to make money online or with blogging that you’re losing two valuable things in life - time, in which we can never get back and money.

Now, before people jump down my throat about the morals of gambling, this was just a simple suggestion, you do not have to gamble. I was just simply stating making money online is exactly like gambling, especially with your time and money. It’s risk reward but so isn’t blogging, affiliated marketing, etc.

So, if anyone needs to know how to play poker, particular Texas Holdem, you can read the basics here . And if you’re looking for a challenge or just want to play at a $0.01/$0.02 table for fun, I play at Pokerstars. I know Mr. Tyler Cruz plays and if he happens to read this, I wouldn’t mind playing at a table with you. Well, online because I’m not traveling to Canada lol!

LOL! Rome, definitely a challenge to anyone that would play Texas Holdem Poker online. I just know for a fact that Tyler Cruz plays it a lot and supposedly he’s pretty good at it. I mean, it’d be better playing in person but he lives in Canada and I don’t lol!

Barry - Sorry, that was completely my fault because I wasn’t around this weekend (you could probably tell by no posts) but I honestly didn’t realize how many entries there actually were, that’s what’s been taking so long. I’m over 1,000 entries (and counting) with hundreds of people participating in this contest and I’m still working on my long ass spreadsheet of entries.

And because Feedburner has been acting up, I’m going to just make a post so people don’t need to rely on Feedburner…

Sorry for that and thanks for your patience Barry!

    That sounds interesting Jay.

You put up a nice post regarding Blogging in general.

In my opinion, it all depends on our interest too, how much we enjoy doing it.

Lol If you put it like that then I guess the two does have some similarities (sp). I play a lot of online poker, but I’ve never played at pokerstars. I normaly play at pacific poker or wass poker. Wass poker has an awesome forum by the way, with a good few free leagues :).

Playing poker isn’t my forte. I might as well flip a coin and say “Head’s you win, Tails I lose” or something along those lines. Has the sam effect as throwing money out the window.

Although it is an interesting thought. Much better loser I am. LOL

Clare - Let me know if you’re ever gonna play at Pokerstars and I’ll find you on there.

Tyler - Keep me updated and I’m there!

Wendy - It’s just like anything else, you just need to learn the game. For instance, chess or checkers… same thing, except you play for money.

Komodo - No it’s not. And if it was, then thousands and thousands of people are playing illegally lol! But I think you just can’t deposit with credit cards. Also I think they’re cracking down and some states are banned but how would people find out anyways?
