Do you always have ideas running through your head, day in and day out and constantly writing like there’s no tomorrow? Now you have so many articles, how should you organize them? When should you post them?
Everyone is different (obviously), some people struggle to write posts while others write like their lives depend on it. But when it comes down to it, you always want to take your time and schedule!
Now, if you’re able to write 10 posts each day, then, well, good for you. More power to you! But you do not post them all in one day!
I know that might sound more obvious than I made it, but there are some people who post a couple articles in a day. You don’t need to. Matter of fact, some of those people who tend to post a couple times a day are losing out more than they know it.
Those same people who post multiple entries each day tend to lose out because they don’t let their audience absorb the content. On top of that, if you’re like me, you don’t get a chance to read the same blog(s) every single day and the more you post, the better the chances are that I will miss a particular post that I may have wanted to read.
Look at it this way. The content on the frontpage of your blog is what people will notice first and foremost. The chances of someone reading older posts (not on the frontpage) decreases dramatically. So the more you post, the more your content will get taken off the frontpage.
Additionally, there are some people who write until their hands cramp up and post multiple articles but forget one small, yet very important thing – reread your own articles before posting!
People forget to do the simple things like rereading their own posts which usually leads to overlooked grammatical errors, misspelled words and so on.
I know I’m far from perfect. Shoot, I reread my articles a couple times before publishing it and I still make tons of errors. But it makes me feel better that you’re not perfect too!
Generally, if you are all over the place when it comes to articles, you might want to set a plan for yourself. Trust me, it will definitely help!
Again, everyone is different so it’s hard to tell you what to do. But here are some things that help me:
- Don’t force yourself to write if you cannot
- Blogging is not your life, take a break, go out and do something else
- Set a schedule for: writing, posting, reading, networking, etc
- Socialize with other bloggers and read other blogs: this will also help you get ideas
- Create a short term and long term list of things to do and just cross them off as you go
Overall, you want to set a schedule for a short term and a long term plan. This will help you get organized. It can be the simplest list from topics to goals to a posting schedule.
Again, this will help you with what to post, when to post it and it will also help track your progression in your blogging world.
And please enter my first contest… thanks!

Many people feel compelled to post everyday. This is a good reminder that it is not necessary, and yes it is much easier to read an article without too many errors
Good advice and being aware it is not necessary to blog every day should ease everyone’s mind.
I am aiming for Quality (or at least hope I am )
Good tips. I’m struggling with this problem a bit lately. I just can’t stop writing. I keep trying to store posts up in order to post them at a later date but I can’t help but post and see my visitors response. I just hope that I don’t lose that enthusiasm or time to post…
Good advice you are right about reading you need to read before you post to update your information at least totally agree with you
Great advice for most, I’ve been working on this very problem.
The nature of my blog is that I do online antiques appraisals in blog format so I need to post up to 4 or 5 articles a day at times.
And your right, they don’t get absorbed the way a singe article does each day.
Any advice?
Thanks for the great read.
I beg to differ Jay.
Blogging is life everything else just gets in the way.
Cheers
Posting is cathartic.
But I agree that posting more than one a day will “lose eyeballs”.
Nobody wants to lose eyeballs.
