I’m not saying people will like me, like my site, like what I write and it’s understandable I’m not going to please everybody. But how dedicated are you to the Blogosphere? If you’re reading this then you’re probably a blogger just like me, but besides writing in your blog, how much have you given back to the Blogosphere?
Aren’t we supposed to be a community? Do you write in your blog but don’t take the time to read other peoples’ blogs or even comment? Are you that type of person who spams the shoutbox’s and community messages with links to check out a specific post or just your site in general? But you don’t do the same for others?
Well, I came to a realization that I’m not as dedicated as I wanted to be to my fellow bloggers. Yes, I continue to give free link love. Yes, I will make banner designs for cheap. And yes, I will try to deliver great content to inform. But the more I thought about it, the more I became a hypocrite.
Why? Well, I read blogs but a lot of the times I don’t comment. And the worst part is when I actually do comment, it ends up getting tossed into the spam filter. But that shouldn’t stop me from actually trying to comment.
But with Entrecard getting bigger and bigger, I think people tend to lose focus on the community, but rather focus on just themselves (and yes, that includes me). We all have days when we drop, drop, drop without even glazing at an entire post. But I am going to stop that. I will start commenting more so everyone, please start looking out for me in your spam filters!
I am going to take my time and be more dedicated to the Blogosphere. Not just by reading posts and possibly commenting, but building a community and friendships with many, many bloggers to come.
I know this sounds all corny, but like I said before, I’m your friend not your foe!
I’m going to take my time with various social bookmarking and networking sites as well too. I know this will be time consuming, but we’ll see where it leads to.
So, if you are willing to collaborate in any way, I will be willing to help you.
Please subscribe to my RSS Feeds, add me as a Technorati Favorite, and add me to your list on the following networking and bookmarking sites and I will do the same in return. But please, leave me a message so I know who you are!
The following are a list of social bookmarking/networking sites I’m a part of (that I can actually remember):
MyBlogLog
BlogCatalog
Technorati
Digg
Mixx
StumbleUpon
Sphinn
PostonFire
BloggingZoom
Current
If I’m missing any that you think I am a part of or “should” be a part of, let me know and I will sign up!

It would be great to get more entrecard people commenting .Most just drop, and go the system sucks in my opinion, but I stay for the traffic, and the hopes of some maybe even reading something.
Great job J, I try to comment on posts that I like, I think part of the problem is that readers just don’t know how important and welcome valid comments are.
Keep up the great work.

I freakin’ love comments! I love EntreCard too, but I feel like I could do it 24/7 and not do enough. It is like being at a 24 hour Chamber mixer. Even if I tell myself I am only going to drop by with a card, I always end up getting interested in what my favorite people have to say. Blogging is a full time job I am finding out! I know you know what am talking about! I hope to see you comment on my site someday soon!!
I favorited you in Technorati, Stumbled that post, and added you in mybloglog!

I love commenting, and get quite frustrated when I have taken the time to read through and so many bloggers do not recip!
It seems if you are new to the blogging world, they just want to pass you by! Well..we all need to start somewhere..!!
Have already subscribed in your reader. Delivered faithfully to my email.
Hope you have returned the favor. Not sure how to check if you are or not.
Going through your list now to see if I missed you anywhere else.
I try to leave comments on every blog I visit. Relevant to their topic.
Keep up the great work

I technorati Fav’d all of your blogs, I am going to subscribe to your blog also, I enjoy your blog posts…;) very helpful !!!
I’ve subscribed to your feed, and I’ll do some of that other stuff when I get a chance to open the relevant accounts.
This and your list of blog forums will keep me rather busy on Saturday.
I dont what makes me like to visit your blog but what I am really sure as I am a new blogger I hope we can make friend. Do please visit my blog http://electricguitartips.net for introduction of our friendship
I read quite a few bloggers exclaim how important this is just to score points. Quite a few bloggers are very egocentric, and wait for their blog to be visited. Part of the fun of the blogosphere is interaction, and creating.
I spend about 3 hours every morning engaging myself in the work of others, and I give feedback. It’s ridiculous to just drop a card, or wait for the return favor of a visit. It is not meant to be like that, although people do it just for the bragging purposes of increased traffic.
It IS important to truly engage in another’s creative work, and it always leaves me with a very nice feeling of contributing when I do it.
Thank you for the AWESOME post. It was like a sip of fresh air. Wow, not all is lost already. Meeting with you makes the life worthy living. Thank you.
corny as it may sound but it is supposed to be one blogger should be doing whenever we visit and read one blog. Let the author know that the post was appreciated.
Hi Jay, I just took your advise and faved you in Technorati, added you as a friend in Blogcatalog, and as a friend in Post on Fire.
Actuall, what I am discovering is that what all the big names in web popularity are saying, give and you will receive. By taking part in other blog posts and communities you receive the like in return.
