Okay, I Caved In – I ‘Will’ Vote in the WTW vs. TC Contest

I’m sure a lot of you guys have seen this contest (which ends on January 14th, 9 p.m. ET) between ‘Winning the Web’ and Tyler Cruz. To enter the contest, you have to vote for who you think should win (and why) between the both of them with three chances to win $100. The loser pays three contestants $100.

Honestly, I wasn’t going to enter this contest because I am a Tyler Cruz fan and didn’t want to backstab him. But here I am backstabbing him (sorry bro!) for a chance to win $100 so yes, my vote is going to Gyutae Park of ‘Winning the Web.’

A lot of you guys are probably thinking “damn Jay, that’s messed up! Why would you backstab him?” Well, technically I wouldn’t say I’m “backstabbing” him because he’s going to be reading this post (so I’m “front-stabbing?”). On top of that, he never knew I existed so technically he also never knew I was a fan. But also, he’s a good guy for introducing me to Park’s website (which I have never been to before – until now).

So, I decided to vote for Gyutae Park of ‘Winning the Web’, not because I dislike Mr. Cruz to favor Mr. Park, but I’m playing the statistics game. Sort of like playing the lottery and including the number 13 in your picks. (13 is the most picked number in the lottery). Currently, as of today January 13th, Park is beating Cruz by 18 (38-20) with a little more than a day left, so that’s nearly twice as much votes!

Again, it’s the statistics game for extra cash in my pockets. You want more? Fine. The contest has been going on for a little more than a week – about nine days to be exact. So, Cruz is averaging a little more than two votes a day while Park is averaging a little more than four.

In addition, I think Park should win because ‘statistically’ the odds went against him going into the contest. Cruz has been around (internet marketing, blogging) longer than Park has as well, so I went for who I thought was the underdog (at the time).

Gyutae Park of winningtheweb.com sporting his t-shirtPark should also win because a large percentage of people cheer for the underdog. I mean, look, he’s trying to ‘Win the Web’ over with that big ol’ smile and that ‘one size fits all t-shirt’ he’s giving away. Oh, and did I mention the fact that Park is offering everything Cruz is offering (Entrecard credits, backlinks, a hug ) but in addition, he’s giving away T-shirt’s just for voting for him.

I mean, look at that picture! He was daring enough to wear his own t-shirt! He was also daring enough to take on Tyler Cruz! Who does that?!

Now you tell me you wouldn’t want to vote for him!

If you want to join in on this contest, To vote for Cruz go here, to vote for Park go here.

Even though I feel that one should stand by his opinion (in which case you should have voted for Tyler), you made nice case in explaining why your vote went the other way.
I haven’t yet managed to make my own post about it, but I would probably go for Tyler, because his comic figure is cute and I am getting tired of all these website banners with some expensive cards on them (I guess John Chow is the one, who originally came up with the concept).

Great choice ! It was smart to vote at the end of the contest, and taking into consideration the stats :)
