Yes, FREE advertising on John Chow’s blog! Nope, it’s not a lie, there’s no money, dinero, yen, or any other currency involved. All you have to do is sign up for Entrecard.com.

Was that a link bait? I wouldn’t say so. Technically, you don’t have to pay a dime.

I’m sure most of you guys have heard about Entrecard.com, it’s a new “free exchange network” that displays a 125 x 125 advertisement on blogs that are displaying this widget (And yes, it does include big name bloggers like John Chow).

If you need an example, just look to the right and when you sign up, feel free to drop your card! I also did a screenshot of the dashboard.

But essentially, you build “credit” and use that as your currency to buy advertisement on various blogs. There’s three ways of earning credit:

You earn 1 credit every time you “drop your card” for someone else. (Simply by going to a person’s blog and clicking on “Drop Yours” on the Entrecard widget.
You earn 1 credit when someone drops a card for YOU.
Lastly, you earn some credits when people spend their “credits” to advertise on your blog.

The price for advertising on someone’s blog all depends on how many times someone “dropped their card” on that person’s widget, and then multiply that by two. And that is on a daily basis. So, let’s say you get 50 “dropped cards” on your site on any given day; the price to advertise on your site would be 100 credits for one day.

You have full power to approve or reject any advertisements submitted to you. And I believe you can hold up to nine advertisements on your waitlist at a time before it’s full.

This is definitely a great new way of building traffic to your site for FREE, discovering new and interesting blogs and building a relationship with other bloggers.
