There are a lot of bloggers who set up monthly goals and are very detailed oriented with it. They probably set up plans and make an entire checklist. Unfortunately, I’m not exactly one of those types of bloggers. And that’s probably why I’m not as successful as most.
A couple months ago when I started DatMoney.com, I wanted to create a blog to help other bloggers in a way that is seen through my eyes. Sort of like a hands on approach on what has worked for me and what hasn’t. I mean, I’m also the author of DatCurious.com which a lot of people are hesitant with the subject and don’t want anything to do with it (but I can guarantee that it is suitable for all ages – I’m just trying to open peoples’ eyes and make them realize that it should be a subject everyone needs to learn about).
So, I have definitely learned from two very different aspects of this blogging world, so far.
But I definitely want to do better for both my main blogs, because when it comes down to it, I’m hoping to help someone and hopefully that someone will learn and pass that information along to the next person.
See, traffic wise DatCurious.com gets tons of visitors because of the subject it’s touching on but people don’t necessarily want to associate themselves with it (by leaving comments, exchanging links, linkbacks, etc). I understand my blogs are only a few months old but I think my best day for unique visitors was around 1,200. My goal is to double that. If I only get to do it once during the entire year of 2008, that’d be good enough for me. But I’m hoping it’ll be a lot more often than once!
My Rss Feed subscribers have been struggling LOL! Both of my blogs sit somewhere around the 50’s and that’s definitely not saying much. I’m just trying to get my subscribers to triple digits, whether it’s 100 or 999! But make sure to subscribe to DatCurious.com feeds or DatMoney.com feeds, whichever you prefer! Unless you want to give me a late birthday (Dec. 19th) present and subscribe to both?
I also want to get my Google pagerank. Nope, there’s nothing else besides that. I just want a pagerank period! Because Google doesn’t update it that often (every 3-4 months) I basically was starting my blog(s) around the time of their last update.
With Technorati for DatMoney.com and DatCurious.com, I’m sitting around 40-55ish on both blogs and I’m just hoping that will increase into the triple digits.
So, those are my goals for 2008 and hopefully they’re realistic enough to achieve!
Make sure you set some goals and post them to enter in the Daily Blog Tips project. You’re guaranteed a linkback so why not?

Interesting post – thanks for sharing your thoughts!
My goals for blogging is that visitors learn something about Norway, our culture, traditions and habits.
