We’re all on the internet so how do the attractive people get more exposure for their blogs?Well, just look at their pictures, of course. There are people who use that to their advantage, even if it’s not their own picture!
If you are a serious blogger, I would have to assume that you are a part of the many social networks out there. Even if you’re not a blogger, I’m sure you have some sort of account on myspace or facebook, right? Don’t you ever see how all the ‘attractive people’ have millions of friends and get tons of attention while the people who choose not to display their pictures aren’t as popular?
Well, this theory can work for building traffic to your blog as well.
I’m not saying you have to be the sexiest person in the world or display pictures of you in a bikini, but displaying your picture will usually draw in more attention to your blog.
Just think about it…
Say you’re on blogcatalog, mybloglog or even myspace and you’re browsing through the many profiles or blogs listed in the directories, then you run across a very attractive profile picture – are you not going to click on the profile to at least check it out?
Chances are people will click on profiles with attractive pictures first, then profiles with any picture and lastly, those who do not display anything.
And even if the attractive picture is of some random model, the chances are higher to get someone to their profile or blog than it is for someone who doesn’t have a picture displayed. Just look around in these social network sites you go to, I can guarantee there are people displaying attractive pictures of someone else just to get more exposure.
If you plan on putting a picture on your profile or blog, I wouldn’t suggest putting a picture of someone else because it’s misleading and could backfire. I mean, more than likely you will get people to click on your blog but if you mislead, the chances of them coming back will probably be slim.
Though, it’s worth a shot, right? So, display those pictures already! Even if they’re not that attractive…
Well, maybe just display the attractive ones
An interesting idea, but I wonder if you put a too attractive picture if some people would find it misleading :S
You should have a peak at the post I made regarding this a few months back. Here is the link

wow. what a shocking expose. people like pretty people? shocking. you certianly have incovered some shocking information here.
Ahem, cough, cough…Monsieur Jay…somehow, I don’t believe that you’re a sexy blonde…so where is YOUR pic?!
Too true, reminds me of the real estate agent who put a picture of herself in a bikini on a billboard a few years ag0!
I definitely know what you mean, although people who post pictures of themselves don’t usually get the best sort of attention. I randomly stumbled across a blog that actually had a post about MY blog, sarcastically stating that I was the “World’s Sexiest Blogger”. Not only did they use my photographs without my permission, but they used them to mock me and my writing. I didn’t take it to heart, but certainly didn’t enjoy the experience at all.
