I started to pay closer attention to my statistics on both of my main blogs – DatCurious.com and DatMoney.com – and the numbers don’t match up, especially with sites like Alexa.com and Compete.com.
I know a lot of people don’t rely on Alexa and Compete, but sadly, we probably all still go there just to see what they rate us in their traffic rank; better yet, a lot of sites use Alexa or Compete to determine how much traffic a site is getting – though, the numbers are deceiving.
So Jay, the numbers don’t match up? Obviously not, or there would be no purpose of this post .;-) But I hope I’m not the only one either.
See, the good part about having two different blogs is you get to compare the stats to each other. And oddly enough, the blog that gets more traffic (more than twice as much and on some occasions three times as much) ranks worse in both Alexa and Compete.
How in the hell does that work? I have no idea, but I took screen shots a couple days ago and you guys be the judge. The first is DatCurious stats…
I understand the 3-month stats, they are reasonable especially the fact that DatCurious is two months older than DatMoney, but everything else, I don’t get.
I took that picture two days ago so the stats should reflect December 28th or 29th. On DatCurious, I received 400 then 750 uniques between the two days while DatMoney only received slightly more than 200 on each of those days.
I didn’t bother taking screen shots of Compete because it was basically stating the same thing as Alexa. I mean, we all know Alexa and Compete are almost equivalent to Google Pagerank, it doesn’t really mean much, but yet, people rely heavily on them and a lot of us get screwed over it.
Luckily, at least one of my blogs are given pretty good stats with them… unfortunately, it’s the wrong site but I’ll take what I can get!
Remember to get FREE Link Love by leaving your blog info as a comment at ‘Link Love for EVERYONE’.

This is definitely a unique way of gaining more exposure and building more traffic for your blog. RSSHugger.com is a site which lets people find new blogs under different niches.
“Wait, that’s the same thing as a lot of other blogs!” Not exactly. What they do is give every blog a fair opportunity to get exposure by resetting their Top 100 blogs each month. (So, the big name blogging sites aren’t on there year round.)
Also, you get exposure from their “Random Pages” and “New RSS Feed Pages.”
To get your blog listed into their database, there are two options:
1.) Simply write a blog post/review about RSSHugger and you get in for FREE! (Sort of like this post that I’m currently doing.)
2.) If you don’t want to write a post, or you’re just too lazy too busy, then you can just pay a one time fee of $20.
Sounds easy enough to me!
When it comes to making money online, age has no restrictions on it. I know, like the late Aaliyah once said “age is nothing but a number” and luckily, we are not dating then it probably would be! But no matter how young you are or how old how wise, making money from blogging is for everyone!
thousands of blogs enough blogs to see that there are thousands who make enough money to do that as their day job.
older wiser bloggers that have years and years of experience and make plenty of money from blogging.
If you guys want an easy way to create and customize a 2-column or 3-column layout, I found a site for you! All you have to do is fill out a simple form and click “generate” and then you’ll have your template.

So, apparently my post got deleted for whatever reason at blogcatalog so I’m going to write it here. To start the New Year, I’ve decided to give some link love to EVERYONE that wants some help with linkbacks, technorati ratings, pagerank, etc.
There’s a catch, right? Not really. Again, I was going to promote this on blogcatalog but my post got deleted so you guys will have to leave your name, site name and site URL as a comment on THIS post.
The whole purpose for this is to give back to the blogging community, help out with some pageranks, technorati ratings, etc. But more importantly, I just want to be able to meet some brand new bloggers, check out peoples sites… simple as that. No catch…
I will be writing a post within the next few weeks just simply giving some link love to anyone that wants it. That’s it. Just as simple as that!
So, what are you waiting for, just leave a comment with your blog URL!
Update: Please tell EVERYONE you know that may want some linkbacks!
