Put Keywords in Blog Title to Help with SEO

If you are a blogger, you should already know the importance of keywords for search engine optimization (SEO). I mean, you are competing with about 9 million other blogs in the world, based on the stats from technorati. So, enabling your blog to appear in the first couple of pages in search engine results should be one of your top priorities.

While some people say you should research your important keywords prior to starting a blog, it’s not necessary… at first. I know for a fact that a lot of people do not start blogs thinking “well, let me get my SEO going!” But the more popular your blog becomes, it does become important so why not start from the beginning?

Gathering your important keywords is useful because you can include them in your blog link. The reason is search engines index your blog and use your keywords from the blog title, link, post title, blog description, content of your blog posts and lastly, in the alt tags of your images.

But essentially, your primary keywords should within your blog title. This is fairly easy to do in blogger.

Login to your blogger account.

Then click on “Template.”

And “Edit HTML.”

Look for:

<title><data:blog.pagetitle/></title>

Then change it to:

<title>YOUR KEYWORDS<data:blog.pagetitle/></title>
Replace the ‘YOUR KEYWORDS’ with the primary keywords of your blog. Then click save and you’re all done. Now those simple, yet essential, keywords should help you in SEO.

Great tips! It took me a while to figure out how to make a comment here. I normally write my blog titles as questions. Most people search google with questions and I have landed quite a few first page results from that.
